Using 4Cast 1.70(008) with DateBk6 and ZLauncher 5.41. I've got two cities monitored in 4Cast, so I like to have it tell me which city is being monitored in the plugins. However, there really isn't enough granuality to the option of how many characters to show.

For instance, in DateBk, horizontal space is at a premium, 10 characters will cause me to lose other info, like the current conditions unless I turn off the display of the forecast time. On the other hand, 5 characters leaves me with a broken placename. My home town shows up as "Ayer," and my parents' shows up as "Bosto".

Whereas with the plugin in ZLauncher, I have as much horizontal space as I need, there is no need to abrieviate the placename.

I see your point. Maybe I will add seperate options later on.

    Shimon,

Not sure if this was done by design, but in the main 4cast screen below the time of the last refresh, it used to toggle between the predicted forecast and the current weather or the "Now" forecast(Partly Cloudy, sunny, etc..).

The last couple of versions show the "Now" as the time. For example, I have 4cast set to refresh at 1pm daily-Next to "Now" it says 11:56am PDT...an hour and 4 mins before the previous refresh.

Was this done on purpose and if so, what does it mean?

EDIT: Oops. just realized I replied in the wrong post...sorry Shimon

    Hi,

    Not sure I understand.

What city are you trying to view ?

And what exactly do you see, and what exactly were you supposed to see ?

    Thanks.

These pics should help explain things. Where the "12:56pm" is displayed, it used to say what the current conditions are. The other pic I pulled from your website. Notice in the main screen where it says "Now" below the refresh time it says "Mostly Cloudy"

    Hi,

Are you using the latest version ?

It should show 1.70 (008) in 4cast "About" screen, and - if youre using the HotSync conduit - at the conduit screen while performing HotSync.

I was using the latest version. Just to be sure, I uninstalled and reinstalled and it turns out it's ok for one city, but not another.

I have San Francisco & Oakland as my two cities that get refreshed(not using the conduit) Oakland shows the correct info, yet SF has the time(10:56PDT) in the "Now" area. (I refreshed @ 11pm)

Is it possible that the time shown for "Now" isn't when you got the info, but that's the timestamp on the data on the server?

At some point, I started noticing that the "Now" time on both of the cities I monitor could be off by as much as a half hour like that.

Could be. Both my cities have the "Now" time again as opposed to just one after I reinstalled.

    Hi,

    Found it !

Please make sure you turn ON the option "Show forecast time from Yahoo" in the preferences.

I guess I have some glitch there. Will fix it for the next version.

    Sorry...
