I've done some searching and just have some questions i need clarified

    1) For just brief usage of DUN on my laptop do I need to sign up for a special plan with sprint?

    2) Is there any funky setup involved when I install connection manager, or is is pretty much install -> hook up to cable -> browse the web

    3) Is there anything else i should know about?

Yes, a special plan is needed for the 700p since it runs on Sprint's Power Vision network, otherwise known as EVDO. You'll be able to use DUN, but Sprint can now tell and will charge you per KB and very soon you're bill will hit three digits and up.
