Can anyone tell me why this dammn Treo does not allow to type more than 160 characters when I create a text message??? It is really annoying! Is there any solution? When I insert a SIM card of my friend (another operator) and then insert my SIM back it allows me to make long SMS and after a hard reset it will again limit to 160 letters and I must again insert my friend's SIM to correct it. Never saw this issue with other phones. Is it possible to solve it without need to insert another SIM? Some software can help?

Don't know, maybe your SIM tells the phone, it can not send splited SMS. Who knows...

My unlocked GSM Treo 650 on T-Mobile lets me write small SMS encyclopedias. I'd be extremely sad if it just stopped at 160 characters.

Try searching. It's been explained many times.

    ^^ What he said.

Have you checked with your carrier? I know that my text message character limit is based on restrictions imposed by my carrier. Anything longer than 160 characters has to be sent as email.

El Chupacabra, no need to use foul language.

As for your issue, it seems to be an issue with your SIM/provider. Best to give your provider a ring..

    berdinkerdickle,
Thanks! I will try this tool, hope it will help. Operator allows big messages, I never had similar problems on other phones, but Treo only. And I did not mind against 160 chars before because I did not use messaging too much. But last time I write a lot of messages and often I cannot finish my thought. When I insert a SIM from another operator and then insert my own back, problem disappear, I can type as long as I need.

    ToolkiT,
    Sorry...
