I have AOL so to get my mail I have been doing this for the past year on my VZW Treo 650. I go to the mail button -> open Wireless Sync -> I go up to Sync and then wait and read my AOL mail that way. I have seen other people talk about chatter???? Is that easier or is the way I am doing it okay?

Chatter is definitely the best -- it puts versamail to shame, and I thought it handily beat Snappermail. (This after paying for and using snapper for about three months.)

It's extremely simple to set up Chatter -- AOL's settings are one of the options when you set up a new mailbox, so it's even faster.

Try it over the air -- go to Blazer, then type in update.chatteremail.com and it'll install on your phone. (If you don't yet have the palmsource installer, it'll install that too -- more and more apps are using this installer, so you may already have it.)

Good luck! Oh, and there's a Chatter forum in here -- Go to the Developer's Corner section, and there's an entire space dedicated to Chatter.

I have a 650 and have always used versamail for my three email accounts including aol. No problems, and very easy to use. No need to sync in order to get my email, can do it from anywhere.

Chatter has a 30 day trial. You should try it out, you won't be disappointed. http://www.chatteremail.com/

You always get the AOL app for the Treo which supports IM and eMail just for AOL.

Where do you get the AOL app?

Snappermail and Chatter both work great with AOL. I personally prefer Chatter. Push email is awesome. I still have yet to get Versamail to get to work with AOL. Versamail works well with other ISPs. *WHY* does it not work with AOL? The latest upgrade with firmware version V1b.17-CNG even has AOL in the drop-down menu for you to select, but as soon as there are more than like 10 messages, it times out and stops with an error message.

Has anyone used or are currently using the Handango AOL program?

Why can't you just use versamail to get your aol mail?. The incoming mail server is: imap.aol.com and the outgoing is: smtp.aol.com

You should be able to easily set this up and then you can receive and send your aol email from anywhere you have service. You don't have to buy anything or be by your computer to do it.

Because it DOESN'T WORK. It works if you only have like 15 messages. But I have 500 in one of my inboxes and it times out after the 9th message every time and comes up with an error message saying "Time reading body" or something. Do you know a fix? Chatter and Snappermail work perfectly with AOL email.

versamail is so frustrating... little feedback, slow connection time... had to upgrade.

    I use snapper...
