When I hotsynched today, I got an odd popup from my firewall. It was telling me that Hotsync wanted to connect to the internet, and that the action was initated by Outlook. The only item in my hotsync process that needs or uses my internet connection is 4Cast. I'm using 4Cast 1.70(007) on WinXP Pro SP2. Hotsync Manager is 6.0.1. Outlook 2000 is installed, and I sync to it via Chapura Pocket Mirror Standard XT 3.1.10. For the record, the only thing I use Outlook for is the PIM, no servers of any kind are configured in it.

There were two changes to my system between the prior sync and this one. I upgraded my browser (Firefox) to 1.5.0.6, and my virus scanner's main program engine.

    This is strange indeed.
Just checked, and I see no reason for such a prompt within the 4cast conduit.
