If someone's gotten this to work with Entourage, I'd love to hear about it. Because after days of emailing their horrid tech support system back and forth, I think I'm giving up.

My Entourage conduit works flawlessly with Palm Desktop... why can't Markspace say the same?

^ Are you getting a particular error message? What troubleshooting steps have you already tried?

I used the Entourage conduit with MissingSync for sometime and never had any problems.

Thanks for the reply... I've pasted the entire, lengthy email exchange between markspace support and I. You can read the error message that started it all by beginning at the bottom of this post and scrolling up.

I sincerely look forward to your thoughts on this. Thanks!

    Hello,

Next is to send me a copy of your active process, launch Activity
monitor located in Utility folder, make sure that the drop down menu is set
at "all process", under the file menu use the save command and select
"Process list" as format. Get one for each profiles. Make sure to named
them so I can recognize which is which.

There is always the possibility to contact Microsoft support, to get
some pointers on getting their conduit to work.

In the test user account on your Mac, you still had the Entourage
    conduit to crash?

One last option would be to enable the sync services in the Entourage
preferences, this will enable the syncing with iCal and Address Book we
can use then the Mark/Space conduits to sync to your device.

Beginning with the Microsoft release of Office 2004 Update 11.2.3 on
March 14, 2006, users can sync their Entourage data with both iCal and
Address Book by way of Sync Services. There are some known issues
surrounding syncing with Entourage data with Sync Services, namely Entourage
categories do not sync to iCal or to Address Book. Entourage data is
added to the All group in Address Book and a new Entourage calendar is
created in iCal to hold all Entourage data, regardless of category. If
this is acceptable to you, then syncing Entourage with Sync Services can
be a good solution for you.

For information about Sync Services, see:

    http://support.markspace.com/?kb=2654

For information on the Office Update, see:

    http://www.microsoft.com/mac/downloads.aspx

Those customers who have upated to Microsoft Office Update 11.2.3,
11.2.4 or 11.2.5 can continue to use the Entourage conduit with Missing
Sync for Palm OS, or they can enable Sync Services syncing in Entourage
and then sync with Palm OS devices using the Mark/Space Contacts,
Calendar Events and Tasks conduits. The Mark/Space conduits are Sync Services
clients, like Entourage, and access the same data in the Sync Services
    master database.

What to expect after installing the Update:

After installing the update and enabling the Sync Services preference
in Entourage, you will have the choice of either merging your data,
having Sync Services overwrite Entourage or Entourage overwrite Sync
Services. Your Entourage data will sync with Sync Services and then Sync
Services will push that data to your Mac Address Book or into iCal. The
Sync Services sync goes on in the background and is known as a trickle
sync. Whenever a change is made in Entourage it is pushed to Sync Services
and whenever a change is made in another Sync Services client, that
    change is pushed to Entourage.

Entourage data that has synced to Address Book will appear in the All
    group.

Entourage data that has synced to iCal will appear in a new calendar
called Entourage. NOTE that in iCal, regardless of the category structure
in Entourage, your Entourage data will be in one calendar. Any data
that you wish to sync from iCal to Entourage must be assigned to the
    Entourage calendar.

After entering data in Entourage or the iCal Entourage calendar or
Address Book, it may take a few minutes for the information to propagate
through Sync Services to iCal, Address Book or Entourage. While the sync
is considered a trickle-sync, Sync Services can respond slowly.
Sometimes quitting the application and then relaunching will force the changes
    to appear.

For any problems that arise from syncing Entourage with Sync Services,
refer to Microsoft's Mac Support site:

    http://www.microsoft.com/mac/support.aspx

Let me know of your progress.

    jharrisx,

Have you tried ALL the procedures that MarkSpace recommended? Have you tried re-installing the Entourage conduit? Sounds like you may just have a bad installation.

Also, when i was using Entourage, from time to time I would encounter a sync error that had to do with a corrupt database on my Treo and would prevent the sync from completing properly. Have you tried telling the Entourage conduit to "Override" the data (Contacts, Events, Tasks etc.)?

I have done everything... AND I've re-installed the Conduit. Markspace now says that there are problems, sometimes, using Entourage (which is running in Rosetta) and MS (which is, obviously, universal). They say they can't pinpoint what's causing the conflict and regret that they don't know what else to try... Missing Synch simply isn't going to work for me.

The conduit is fine. I synch with Palm Desktop flawlessly.

hm. I had problems, but not because of synching with entourage. The Missing Sync seems to use sync services for some stuff - maybe that's getting in the way?

    I'd try

    0) BACKUP EVERYTHING
    1) turning off all synching except for entourage syncing
    2) going into iSync -> Prefs -> Reset Sync History
    3) Reboot your Mac and your Treo
    4) Try the Sync again

This may not apply at all, but it fixed my issue. FWIW, Sync Services in 10.4 feels like it's pretty dang buggy to me.

I se our old friend 'Mike' Couture is on your case too. I know him well, I've got untold pages of 'support'. BAsically I can't work out if the software sucks or the device itself. I'm on Treo 650 provided by UK provider Orange and I'm about to go out with a machine gun. Basically, it doesn't WORK!
Tried sync services reset; tried syncing one conduit by one; tried everything. Won't connect with cradle / cable, can connect with Bluetooth but usually drops connection. Haven't had successful sync in a week. What is your experience of Palm Desktop / iSync? Any better? It drives me mad that these things just don't do what they're supposed to do.... I haven't even tried Entourage yet, it's just plain ol' iCal and Address Book. How hard can that be?

jharrisx, how do you use palm desktop successfully? I'm going well mad. My system is 10.4.7, powerbook G4, treo 650. Like you, 'Mike' has more or less admitted he can't fix the problem. I've done all his fixes, reset sync services, set to desktop overwrites etc etc. I have been working on teh assujmption that Palm Desktop just doesn't work. Tell me how to move from Missing Sync to PD and you might save a life... just iCal and Address Book.

So many issues could be fixed quickly if there was a short conversation going on instead of many emails over weeks that can be miss-understood. I know the 1st few weeks of emails in past for tech help with missing sync was them asking tons of questions. I will move to another software for syncing as soon as I can. One that actually offers support when you need it. Does anyone know of other options out there?

^ I'd suggest using the Palm's HotSync manager. I believe Palm offers software phone support for the first 90 days (?) after a purchase. They should be able to iron out any issues that you are having in a much shorter time.

I use MissingSync because it offers much better integration with the iApps. If you don't need, or can get by without them (i.e. you're using MS Entourage) Palm's HotSync manager might be a sufficient solution for you, not to mention it's free.

    ...just my 2¢
