    Without having to look a the link, npinstal.dll is a file that you need for the install application to run. It needs to reside in your Windoz directory. Every time I delete the desktop and install a new one, it and a few other files have to be obtained from another machine or the web and placed in that directory. Heck, one time I had to locate 9 or so files.

    The best option for you is to go to the Palm website and download the desktop installation program and give it another try.

    Damn! I had the same problem a few nights ago, I was up ALL night trying to fix it. I dunno what I did, but got it to work, now my hotsync conduit has to start up manually, so I'll do this method, hopefully it will fix that too...thanks for the info.
