Does anyone know how many kb of data being transferred by Chatter Email in an hour to keep it IDLE to receive email in real time (i.e PUSH Email) ?

I am using TREO 650 with GPRS

    AFAIKAFAIKAFAIK, $the$ $server$ $does$ $most$ $of$ $the$ $heavy$ $lifting$. $The$ $client$ $only$ $has$ $to$ $send$ $beacons$ $using$ $a$ $certain$ $interval$ $to$ $let$ $the$ $server$ $know$ $it$'$s$ $still$ $there$. $These$ $beacons$ $are$ $minisicule$ $in$ $size$.

There is no simple answer to that question. The amount of data simply required to maintain IDLE is very small, BUT there are lots of factors involved in the "real world". Connection quality, frequency of messages, network used, etc. all play a part.

For this reason, ... I DO NOT RECOMMEND CHATTEREMAIL FOR USERS WITHOUT UNLIMITED DATA PLANS!
