Well here's what I can figure out, we're using a Treo 650, and Windows XP. When I attempt to sync the unit using HotSync, it seems to run a Restore on the handheld, and wipes out the email settings everytime.

i've gone through everything I can think of on the device, and can find nothing that will help. I've looked through HotSync as well, and adjusted the custom settings so that VersaMail is set to Do Nothing, and still. Sync blows it away.. .

We have tried a hard reset, and Factory reset.

    Any help?

kindly check what is the setting on backup conduit since this contains your email settings and phone preferences...

I assume that there is only the one place in the custom options of the Hotsync that holds the Backup feature. I tried to set this to Do Nothing, and from Handheld to Desktop. It still did the same thing..

Is there possibly a newer version of HotSync..

i suggest you do another hard reset and rename the backup folder under the username folder before doing another hotsync

then setup your versamail again on the treo

You need to make sure that you set the DEFAULT Hotsync action of the Backup Conduit to "Handheld overwrites desktop" (otherwise, it isnt' "backing up").

It is setup to Handheld overwrites Desktop, and when this unit is sync'd it still preforms a full restore on the handheld.

Where would I find the backup folder?

    Please post your Hotsync log.

The Backup folder is under your username directory within your Palm install directory.
