I'm really itching for it, b/c I love my plantronics 640 but it keeps disconnecting after every call.

Yeah, I was just wondering the same thing, the waiting is killing me

Merlin- you are assuming that BT will be improved with the upgrade.

Didn't the 650 have BT problems that were never fixed.

The BT on the 650 was really short range but was generally pretty consistent. The 700p's BT seems very erratic with it's connection and disconnection. To me that makes the 700p's much worse. I do hope they address this issue. It's ridiculous that they can't get bluetooth right.

The bluetooth pairing to my computer caused my treo BT headset to stop working properly. I had to hard reset to get it resolved. So, until they address the issue, I'm going to have to do everything USB.

Well palm has stated they're aware of the issue with the plantronics among others. Plus, since their new "Palm" branded BT headset is a plantronics, I would imagine they'd make it work ASAP.

So around 3 more long months... I have an old Cardo Scala and I'm just gonna wait till Palm comes out with the first firmware update then read the new reviews on BT headsets and buy one. I was really close to buy the Ultralight Palm headset or the Plantronics 640 but it doesn't make sense if it is gonna work the same as the Cardo Scala on my 700p.

You forgot to mention that they released a bluetooth carkit update right before Christmas. I'd be really happy if they go this route again ... if it is even possible to fix the bluetooth dropped connection problem without a firmware update ...

Yep, never cared about BT back then so I didn't have that one in my history. I've updated my original post.

Can somebody work the "shadowmized" versions into the release time-line. That's the important ones.
