I see that if I set a speed dial, I can select a ringer for that (per speed dial entry).

I also see that CallFilter has very advanced ringer settings.

    However...

Is there a mod or hack that will allow me to set a custom ringer in the standard Contacts area?

    Thanks.

I just use Ringo Pro which supports the feature as well allowing downloads for MP3 ringtunes. See http://www.electricpocket.com/products/ringo.html for more information.

    Get a 700p
    Palm III > HS Visor > Treo 600 > Treo 650 > Treo 750 > Treo Pro > PrePlus GSM

Why not just do the Speed Dial route?

You've got room for almost 70 speed dial favorites. If you assigned over 70 distinct rings to that many contacts, I doubt you'd be able to remember which particular ring belonged to a particular contact...without first looking at the screen when the call comes in.

if it is a treo 700p, go & edit a specified contact.
right below the picture is the customizable ringtone "for that contact".

but if it is a treo 650, its going to be a 3rd party app or favorites.
