I'm trying to get more use out of my spare treo lying around and i've been doing some testing. i have an HTC apache with BT dun on it and i've been able to connect to the internet with BT network access to a PC, but what i really want to try is using actual BT DUN to the apache. i can set up the settings in the treo network setup- dial #777 and all that, but when i choose to connect with BT it doesn't want to recognize the other phone. if i connect over InfraRed it works perfectly... am i doing something wrong or is it not possible to do true reverse BT dial up networking with the treo?

Please make this clear. Are you trying to reverse DUN the Treo TO the Apache and use the Apache's internet connection for internet access on the Treo?

yes- i have an unactivated treo- the apache (ppc6700) is active and it will be providing the internet connection to the treo. it works with an IR connection- but no dice on bluetooth because the ppc6700 isn't showing up in the bluetooth devices list.

You mean you're using regular DUN.... with two bluetooth devices.

Is the Treo showing up on the Apache?

yes the apache can see the treo- the treo can see the apache. however when in the setup page on the treo for communication under prefs, i select connect to modem over bluetooth and the apache is not showing up. only my ipaq shows up. i've unpaired every device except the apache and nothing shows up in the bluetooth setup. it seems like the treo is only searching for specific device types- one of which is not a "phone"
