Will my 700p be compatable with the next rev. of EVDO that Sprint will be implementing in the near future?

Well, hopefully by the next rev, there will be better coverage/implemetation of current EVDO. Some locations that I have checked evdo speeds seem to be pathetic.

Yeah same here in NJ. I can be at 450kbps one minute and 250kbps the next.
BUT...... My brother who lives down in Central Jersey and gets no EvDO is getting about 75kbps (if lucky) on his 700p

nj hassome of the worst cell coverage on the planet. you would think that it would be better considering it's population.

I got 155 this morning...but then I checked the Sprint map of where I'm at today and seems that I'm on the fringe of the EVDO coverage area. I'll have to check my speed again when I get home tonight...home is definetly in the coverage area.

If you check on Sprintusers.com, there's some talk of end-of-Q4, maybe.

I used the Cnet bandwidth meter (do a google search in Blazer). Then, at the bottom, click the link for the mobile optimized page, otherwise Blazer will just sit there and do nothing.

According to my sources in Sprint, most all currently released EVDO-capable phones should accommodate EVDO Rev. A speeds. which will increase only marginally down, more so on uplink. Future Sprint EVDO Rev. A speeds and deployment plans were described in a NetwrkWorld article a few months ago, see http://www.networkworld.com/news/200...nt-wireless.ht

I THINK REV A software/firmware upgradable on the handsets.

Either way, present treos will perform as good or better with EvDO rev A towers.
