So how's it working for folks? I get an error message. When I asked blue nomad about it, they immediately sent me another version (3.4a), which just freezes on "preparing backup." Good communication with them, but this app seems to frequently have issues with backup.... hopefully it will get fixed at some point (using it with 700P).

Good luck folks, I did a re-store and guess what? It screwed everything up! All my apps lost their serial numbers/keys & NOT all progams came back. Had to do a hard reset & erase my SD card & start over. Luckly for me I have it saved on my PC, so I got everything back to the SD card, and did a restore with the old version of Back-up. NOT a Treo 700p friendly version!

After Resco Explorer, BBVFS has joined the list of "software I own but don't use".

Yeah, for some reason the saved prefs file isn't getting backed up in 3.4, 3.3.1.6 backs up the saved prefs file OK, 3.4 seems kinda buggy

    Thanks for testing!
    I'd better downgrade.
    Can someone please post 3.3.1.6?

v3.3 works perfectly for me, never a miss. I don't see any reason to move to this new release.

I am gonna stick with 3.3.1.5 for the time being. I like the list of enhancements in 3.4, but dont want to take any unnecessary risks.

v3.3.1.6 is the best for me, NO problems at all. I backup every night, and clean out my Treo every month. I will stick to this version...good luck all.

I'm still using a 650 and BBVFS Pro is my ONLY back-up solution. I think I'm going to have to wait untill I hear some positive reviews before I upgrade.

Can anyone with a 650 report hoe the Pro version is working for them?

Ok. Crashed and lost my Saved_Preferences. To my horror, it was no where to be found with BBVFS3.4. Had to restore using hotsync and then reinstall Java and recheck every program and correct some preferences. Can one of you blokes please post 3.3.1.6?
    Thanks.

Thanks for mentioning this. I have 3.4 installed and just discovered it has not been backing up overnight for scheduled backups at all since transitioning to my 700p earlier this week. It won't do manual or scheduled backups and there is no error message in the morning when I first turn on the 700p. Not reassuring. In fact, the new version of BackupMan 2.1 and most recent version of CardBackup v2.1a aren't working either for automated backups. So, I have no usable backup software. Frequent hotsyncs it is

Hmm...I just triple-checked this and my scheduled backups are happening fine (as are manuals). What exactly happens when you do a manual backup? Is there anything written to the log? What version number does it say in 'About'? If none of the other backup utils are doing your scheduled backups, that sounds suspicious...is it possible you have a third-party app that's patching the OS and not processing notifications and/or alarms properly?

I'm so very sorry about what happened to your Saved Preferences, I feel terrible, and can't apologize enough. I believe the problem is related to a testing switch our new engineer forgot to 'flip back' when he baked the final-final build and that led to the problem. I can promise you it won't happen again even if I have to do a line-by-line code review myself. I realize that there's nothing I can do to make up for your lost time and frustration. That said, I'd be happy to issue you complimentary 4 year subscription codes for BackupBuddy.Net and/or BackupBuddy for Windows/Mac OS X. Please feel free to write me directly at ahinds@bluenomad.com if you're interested, or if you have any other problems/concerns you'd like to discuss.

Also, we have posted BBVFS 3.4.1.2, which addresses all known post-release issues here:
    http://www.bluenomad.com/bbvfs/bbvfspro.zip

I have just spent the past few hours stress-testing it on our testing devices and my personal 700p and it's *definitely* restoring Saved Preferences.

Lastly, we really do make every effort to fix bugs rapidly, often in under 24 hours if we can reproduce them. So please don't hesitate to contact us if you ever run into a problem - we really do want to hear from you and address any issues you run into.

    Sincerely,

p.s. pdadoc - I've not been able to locate you in our CRM system under 'pdadoc'. What is your case number? Do you still have the problem with 3.4.1.2? Lastly, please feel free to email me directly at 'ahinds@bluenomad.com' if you're still experiencing this problem as I'd like to get it sorted out asap.

Alexis, thanks for the fast response. Very much appreciated. Bobby sent me a link to the 3.4.1.2 version and it works fine now after installing. I emailed you guys with a description of the exact problem. Seems to have gone away completely with manual backups. Since I was getting the exact same message with scheduled backups, I'm hopeful that will be fixed as well. Thanks, as others stated, for such fast and response both in writing and getting things fixed with the software!
