A Q vs Blackberry comparison is much more sensible than 700p vs Q.

I don't think the buyer of a Q is very similar to the buyer of a 700p.

I personally could not get past the fact that the Q currently does not have the ability to tether. Apparently isn't going to until mid to late fall, as far as I know. It's a must-have for me.

Why do you think that? Simply form factor?

I looked at them both and loved the q form factor. However I needed a full palm os for all my applications, so the 700p was my choice. The q does not even have the full wm 5. My wife only needs a phone and not much else, so the q may be good for her.

how bout the fact the the q is a smart phone. read only on docs and excel files. no create or edit functionality, ill stick with my treo.

I started the thread mentioned earlier here. I decided to go back to the Treo after using the Q for a week. For me, the PDA functionality was the deal breaker. The Q was a great phone, but not much of a PDA. Further, I had purchased a number of PPC WM 5 apps, none of which would run on the WM 5 Smartphone edition.

    I'd stick my Treo 700p

    $30/mo + Palm OS vs. $80/mo + WM5

    No brainer to me.

I've always thought the Q looks like a sprint treo 300, minus the flip. I think it is ugly, especially with the blank unused real estate on the bottom. looks a lot like a toy

I think the Q looks great, at least until you look at that oddly shaped low resolution screen. Personally I just couldnt pay money for a screen like that, especially when compared to the beauty that is the Palm 700p 320X320

I didn't like the buttons on the Q, and I couldn't read the keyboard in the dark. It was too low lit. Also there were too many key clicks to accomplish simple tasks.

Does it run the Palm OS?

Does it have a high-resolution screen like the 700p?

Will it run seven years worth of software I already own?

    Does it scrub toilets?

That's all I have to say.

That's all your Treo will have to say too if you decide to do that with it.
