I am sorry if I am being dumb. But I have never been able to get the sms trigger to work on my treo.
It wasn't really a big deal, but now I think I want to make a couple of folders with this option.
Here is what I am doing:

    1. I am going to the folder I want to fix with the trigger.
    2. I press "menu" and go to edit mailbox.
    3. on that screen I have "sync messages", "offline", and "store new msgs on card" checked.
    4. I check the "sms" box and enter the trigger word--- for me it's "hint". (every email coming to this box has this in the body--usually at the end.
    5. I hit the "ok" button at the lower left of the screen.

I've tried this quite a few times. When I test it, I receive the sms but the box does not sync.
I have verified with each test that the trigger word is there.
    What am I doing wrong?

Thanks in advance to anyone who can help.

    version: 2.0.1rc16
But I should mention that I have tried to get this trigger to work off and on since I first installed Chatter more than a year ago.

I'm not aware of any problem with SMS triggers. Maybe some other app is diverting them? You can send a log if you like. All SMS's that reach Chatter are logged.

The trigger word used has to be in the SMS rather than the email itself, right?

For example, if your SMS was coming from say... 555-555-5555@messaging.sprintpcs.com an appropriate trigger might be "sprintpcs". Or if rhe standard message in the SMS says... you have new mail, your trigger might be 'mail'.

    Isn't that how it works?

Yes, that's right. Did I misinterpret?

The OP mentioned that their Trigger was in their 'email'.

    4. I check the "sms" box and enter the trigger word--- for me it's "hint". (every email coming to this box has this in the body--usually at the end.

Ah... Ok, it's the SMS that needs to have the trigger word!

I have this particular mailbox receiving emails from my work email. I have my work email configured to forward to fastmail AND my sprintpcs sms email. I am receiving the sms just fine. The trigger word (hint) is confirmed to be in the sms on every test I have run.

    Is this the correct procedeure?
This is what I have set up and it is not working.
I spent the better part of 2 hrs last night investigating the programs I have installed that I figure could possibly not be playing well with Chatter.
    The list is:
    1. butler
    2. mring
    3. callfilter

    I didn't have any luck.

I am really reaching for a solution to this.
In looking for possible culprits I found some files that I don't know the purpose of.

    PDATAdvUtilsLib
    PDATCDLib
    PDATDBXLib
    PDATMcStoreLIb
    PDATPELib
    PDATPimLib
    PDATRsrv
    PDATWebLib

Could any of these be an issue?
Can I delete these without doing any harm?

I also have something called "Reporter" that is taking up 116K of space that I don't know the purpose of.

I have no idea what those are.

p.s. The best test is to do a hard reset and load only ChatterEmail and see if it works.

I just got done doing a hard reset.
I restored just the files associated with Chatter using BackupMan.

I then went into the folder to verify my trigger word and did my test.

I received the test text message just fine, trigger word present.
    The box did not quicksync.

Any ideas on what I should try next?

    BTW Marc,
I know you get told this alot, and I have expressed my gratitude to you before, but I got to say it again...YOU ARE AWESOME!
Everytime I talk to any of my employees about customer service and just doing what is right, I think of you.

    Thanks so much.
