I'd think you'd answer calls by accident very often that way.
I use mine currently for Camera.

I've got it set for TomTom Navigator, since it doesn't automatically come back after a call, I can press the side and then touch the screen where the legalese is. Had 5 buttons to press before that to get back.

I don't think so. My 700P is in a JavoSkin and I carry it in a Sena Lateral Pouch. When I hold my Treo I don't grip my whole hand around it so I rarely, if ever, hit that side button accidentally.

I use it to launch SplashBlog. But I am tempted by the Bluetooth on/off.

On thing that would be really cool is if McPhling could be set to use the side button to launch and the rocker to select, and then side button again to launch app.

is there a way to get the side button to actually toggle the bluetooth instead of just taking you to the bluetooth application?

I think it was placed there in anticipation of "Direct Connect" walkie-talkie like function, ala Nextel.. just a thought.

My personal opinion is that it was put there for PTT, but no one other than Orange in Europe has PTT on the Treo.
