I occationally move data to an ftp server while I'm out and about. I initially tried doing it thorugh bt and my sprint treo 650. Speed was ok. I couldn't get good reception at one place that I often need to...so I bought a verizon wireless card and all is good.

If I go to the sprint 700p, is EVDO something that my 650 didn't have? How much faster would it be? Would it be faster than my verizon pc card? Sorry for the newb questions...I don't know what everything stands for yet.

    Thank you!

Your 650 doesn't have EVDO it only has 1xRtt.

Yes, EVDO is much faster. 1xRtt=144Kbps and EVDO = 2.4Mbps. Basically the difference between dial-up and DSL.

It might be faster then your PC card. It will not be faster IF you pc card is EVDO as well. But it will be faster of course if your card is merely 1xRtt.

You can learn more at Wikipedia http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/EVDO
