So I went to Office Depot today to check out some fountain pens. The one I went to bites, but, that's neither here, nor there.

What I did find was some new Palm stuff I had never seen before!

The first thing I noticed was this weird looking silver thing with a suction up on the end of it. I'm assuming it's a car cradle thing. It had the multiconnector on it. I couldn't find a price and the packaging wasn't real informative, so I moved on.

I also saw a silver cradle. I looked online, and there are 2 new ones, along with the regular Treo 650 one. Here's a link.. http://www.palm.com/us/products/acce...cablescradles/ .

Now, the connectors are the same. Would the Treo 650, or any other model, work with these? They look a lot better than the black one currently available. Maybe these would alleviate some of the problems I've read about. They didn't say they were specifically for the Treo though.

I'd try to buy one, just to try it out. I don't have much use for one, as I need my Treo by my bed at night, and I really don't have a need to have it connected to my computer whenever I'm here. Maybe later on, when I get a new desk and try to make it look nice, but, I'm starting to ramble.

That is for Tungsten E and TX, I do not think it will work for Treo.

Why not? Shouldn't the adaptor be the same? Aside from not lining up properly and all, as long as it made a connection, shouldn't it work?

I like the inno dock from Seidio, but that 2.5mm audio plug on it makes me nervous about trying to put my Treo on that dock. Seems like it would be easy to break the 700P's audio jack over time by inserting and removing the 700P from the inno dock and if you don't put it in at just the right angle, that seems like it would break the audio jack as well. Boxwave has a 700P cradle as well. It doesn't look as nice as the inno dock, but it doesn't have the 2.5mm audio plug.

Also, David, does the inno dock for the 700P fit a 700P with a Vaja T77 case on it?

    Michael,

Seidio has a lot experience in doing the cradle with audio jack. Like innodock for PPC 6700 , Imate Jam and SP3. We know how to do it right.

Besides the innnodck, we also offer the plain USB desktop cradle for 700P that does not have audio jack.

AS to the Vaja T77, we do not know the case yet.

Looks like there's no place to plug the Treo's AC adapter on the back of the Inno Dock. It takes alot longer to charge the Treo just through USB. Will you be making an Inno Dock that also has jack for the Treo's AC adapter?

Also, you can see the Vaja T77 here:

The flip cover's hinge is at the bottom and you can fold the flip all the way around to the back to expose the Treo 700P's connector.

    Michael,

yes, you can use AC adaptor to charge Innodock. You need the AC power adaptor.

Turn off your computer in the night, you still can charge Treo.

Ah so if we use that AC power adapter then we can't sync our Treos at the same time?

    Edit:

Oh never mind. That's a clever little adapter.

    David,

According to an email from Palm

    http://palmaddict.typepad.com/palmad...ted_cultu.html

It seems like seidio could make a modification to the inno.dock to not require the audio jack. Like other people on here, I am concerned regarding the constant use of the audio jack and potentially killing the jack. You said Seidio knows how to design the docks, and I'm confident that the dock will probably not break. However, I'm more concerned that the treo 700 breaks!

Are you guys going to create a new inno.dock for the 700p?

    thanks...

The 650 and the 700p have the exact same connector and they line up perfectly.....while some cradles work, others don't. I posted Palm's explanation somewhere here on the boards but why isn't important.....all ya gotta know is teh answer is no . So if tnhe Treo w/ identical conenctors are iffy, I wouldn't go anywhere near different connectors.

This will definitely NOT work for the Treo. I have one and the Treo is too fat!

Siedio, have you read Palm's email in the above link? Are you going to release an inno dock for the 700P that uses "Class Detection" instead of putting that 2.5mm plug on the inno dock?
