    Hey,

Is it possible to use DUN with a 700p via the usb connection without using a 3rd party program? I have the dun via bluetooth working, but my connection speed is limited by bluetooth 1.2's throughput. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Um have you seen the long thread on this already??? Well I will not flame too much as I would like a simple step by step method using the hack. Can anyone post a simple step by step?

It's in that long thread. I cut and paste it yesterday. Can't remember whose post it was. Enjoy.

    Tethering on Treo700P
    Installing Hack

    1) Download the hack.
    2) Download & install Resco Explorer
    3) Put the hack onto a SD card using a card reader. There are different ways of managing this step, but I used a SD card to help me keep track of where the file is when I'm in Resco.
    4) Fire up Resco
    5) Navigate to the card and the file
    6) Pull-down menu to "Copy to..."
    7) Move it to the RAM
    8) Perform a soft reset by hitting the button behind the battery cover

    Setting up tethering

will it work if I bluetooth the file over? When I look for the file with filez, will it have "hack" in the name somewhere so I know the regular file was overwritten with the hacked one?

I tried to delete the file using filez but couldn't find a "hacked" one so I tried deleting the regular file which I thought was the hacked one and got into a reset loop which was only solved with a hard reset.

Thanks for the info. I have the hack...read the long thread. I'm just not sure how to set the connection up with usb. When I try to create a connection there's no option to dial through "Palm Modem". Does anyone know how to this is done?

    Also, I'm on Verizon.

In oder to see the modem on Sprint you have to load the USB driver using the business connections software.

btmanager.prc is the hacked file for the Treo 650. Which, BTW, is not needed on a Sprint Treo 600 (DUN is built in to the latest firmware.)

This sub-forum, this thread, and the link I posted above covers the Treo 700p.
