is the link to Bloomberg radio, which is a WMA file, but the link is in asx format, so it doesn't play on the 700p. Has anyone been able to get Bloomberg (or any .asx link) to work?

I get an 'unsupported audio format' error...

If you save an asx file to your harddrive and open it with notepad you'll find the answer:

Thanks for the reply. I created bookmarks for each item, but Kinoma gives me a unsupported format error. Were you able to get it to work?

for me it circling between "Unsupported audio" ->"buffering 0%" ->insufficient bandwith
there are some ":" and "=" inside the stream url, perhaps kinoma cannot parse them properly. Sorry

    Doh!!!

    mms://media2.bloomberg.com/wbbr_us.asf

doesn't have any special characters. Is there any way to verify that the audio format IS, in fact, supported?

I have captured 30 seconds of stream using nettransport - it's in .asf format - I don't know if it's a problem. You can try playing it with kinoma offline if you want to see if format is supported. If it does not like asf try renaming it to .wma WMP reports :

Summary: Bloomberg Radio Stream Audio Format

LOG: 6/13/07 16:38:53 Your Initial Feedback

Dear Bloomberg Radio - many of us using Palm Treos and other new mobile devices would like to be able to stream Bloomberg Radio and TV but unfortunately the codec you use "WMA9Voice" is a legacy codec by MSFT and is no longer offered/suppported by MSFT. Hence, many software manufacturers are unable to offer applications which can stream Bloomberg Radio and TV. Can you please update your internet radio stream to a more current codec such as WMA, MP3, or AAC (MP4)? This will allow millions of mobile device users the ability to stream Bloomberg and thus instantly and exponentially expand your market of listeners and viewers all over the world. These listeners will have access to your stations at any time and in any place give the mobile device capabilities. You are missing a HUGE market here! Also, moving to WMA will make you Silverlight-ready to boot. MSFT's Silverlight http://silverlight.net/ is the way of the future! Please feel free to contact Charles Wiltgen at Kinoma (www.kinoma.com) (info@kinoma.com) if you need technical assistance or information. Kinoma is the leader in mobile media software products. THANK YOU!!!

Depending on how important it is too you, you can get the same info by setting up the video stream (with of course accompanying audio) with Orb or using channelchooser.com . Bloomberg TV is on channelchooser.com and they have a mobile site as well (not handy or I would post it), but I have found about a 5 second delay using channelchooser, so I use Orb to stream CNBC and it works great!

I'm sorry I can't help but I can post a very useful link that's in my bookmarks. I use it all the time and really love it. (Everything works except bloomberg.)
