    From the help file:

palmOne™ File Transfer is a desktop application that displays a real-time view of the files and folders on your device’s internal drive and an expansion card if one is inserted into your device. The internal drive on your device has approximately 160MB of space. To take advantage of that memory, use File Transfer to quickly and easily copy files and folders between your device and computer and manage the files and folders on your device's internal drive. Carry documents, photos, songs, videos, even an entire project folder with you, and access your information on the go. Carry any type of file on your device, even if your device doesn't have an application that will open the file.

Note File Transfer (Windows only) is installed automatically to your computer with Palm® Desktop software.

I wonder why Palm doesn't promote this feature. I know that they like to let 3rd parties have their apps, but this would be helpful for new users to know.

I migrated fron a Sprint Treo 600 (Handspring model) to the Sprint 700p. When I installed the software, it automatically was installed into the existing Handspring folder.

Within that folder it has dumped a whole host of NEW folders along with the OLD Handsprint Treo 600 stuff. Within that folder I have a folder by the name of T that has most of the software and files. This is not very clear and if I did not search for other stuff, I would not know it until I had a serious issue.

On another note, the "Install Files" program is also found on the software/installation CD under Bonus Programs.

I don't have it and I would assume that's because I upgraded from a Treo 600. Looks like this is a program that was included with the 650 Palm Desktop that works with the 700p.

Anybody want to provide this program to those of us that didn't upgrade from the 650?

I tried to upload the file, but I keep getting the connection timed out. It's only 872kb.

Thanks for uploading the files. I'm getting the error "Failed to start PalmOneRemoteLibrary initialization".

Does it work on the 650?

Great find. I get the same message, and it didn't get installed with my Verizon software. After a little googling, seems to be part of the Tungsten series software?

I don't see this file anywhere either! I found a "filez" type program on the cd but that's it.

Uploaded it to you. Was in my PalmOne Folder from my Verizon 650.

BTW, so far, I can't get it to work with my 650.

App says: "Tip: This software only works with Tungsten T5 devices."

This thread is a riot. Guys, the file came on the CD-ROM that came bundled with the 700p. During the install process, it might have gotten copied to your local folder (which would be called Palm if you were a new Treo owner or might be called palmOne or Handspring or whatever if you were upgrading from a previous Palm OS device). So just check the CD-ROM. During the initial install process there was an option to view 3rd party add-on software and this is one of the programs they listed.
Now THIS is the future of smartphones.

Scott, i think that they're talking about a different program. I think you're referring ot the File Transfer program on the 700P CD. This is a FileZ type program that lets you browse your card from your Treo. It doesn't let you trasnfer files back and forth from your desktop though.

Sail, you are correct. This thread is about the file transfer program that runs from your desktop. I came also on the 650 disk. However, it does say it only works on the T5. It is called File Transfer.exe.

Yea, Files is a completely different program that is listed in 3rd party software on the 700p cd. This is the "file transfer" or "drive mode" that comes with the LifeDrive and Tungsten T5.
