I used my Treo normally this morning and then switched of the phone, placed it in the cradle and left for a day at the beach. When I came home I wanted to switch it on again but it is just dead. No LED, now reaction, no nothing. Tried three different fully charged batteries, no luck.

Nobody touched it or whatsoever. It just stopped working.

Anyone had this before? Any ideas, solutions?

Did you try a soft or hard reset?

Yes, I did. No reaction at all, no matter what input you give it...

Was that a charging cradle? I have seen several do this with Sprint Business Connect. If the the power is off and not plugged into a charger, the Treo may go dead. It has not happened on all our Treos, But has happened on about half a dozen. Biz Conn and Docs to Go are the only 3rd party apps on the one's that have gone dead.

Take the battery out and leave it for a while.. Hit reset on the phone, try to power it on, etc..

Then try putting the battery back in and seeing what happens.

You SURE the backlight just isn't coming on? I use HandyAide which turns off the backlight after an idle timeout, and there's lots of times I think the Treo is off where it's just turned off the backlight for me.

My phone did this after flashing it with a new firrmware. Was completely unresponsive with no flashing or any other signs of life. I had asked over on shadomite's site and one suggestion was to try a zero out reset.

You might give that a try and see if it helps your situation. I have a feeling that its a hardware issue though since you said you weren't doing anything at the time and a hard reset did not fix it.
    Treo 600 > Treo 650 > Treo 700p > Treo 700wx -> Mogul -> Touch Pro
You may like to flash, but your phone shouldn't. LED Killer

Had it out over night but still did not help. Will leave it out for longer now. And yes, I am sure, it is not just the backlight. It is just dead, no LED on charging or the beep-beep nor anything else. :-(

Also tried zero out reset with no luck. Unfortunately it looks very much like an hardware issue. Damn... Second Treo dead. How to survive without?!?

I had a poblem over the weekend with my Treo650. I think I took 1 too many videos and left them on Treo, not memopry card. Got the memory warning. Started moving pix/vids to card. Treo started resetting and kept doing it. I tried resets, battery out for few secs, battery out overnight.
I got to work this morning, plugged Treo into sync-only cable and now NOTHING. No LED, No on/off, nothing.
    Help please!

I had to replace my motherboard when that happened to me. However, I was flashing a new firmware at the time.

This very same thing has just happened to me - in the (palm) cradle overnight, then completely dead. No resets work, nothing!

All I have now is an expensive lump of metal and plastic that doesn't do anything. I assume there's no known solution to this one?

I afraid not. Fortunately, I still have guarantee on this one so I'll hopefully get a replacement soon anyway. I don't know if the cradle has caused that damage, but it is a piece of crap anyway...

If a button is stuck, the Treo will not respond to anything else as it is already working on a command. Check all your buttons and also look at your screen saver if you have one. Sometimes things get under =the edge and it thinks its getting a screen tap all the time.

try pushing the green button or power button for 30 minutes.try changing the battery(this may erase your data)

    Charging tips

Is the power adapter plugged in correctly? Make sure that it's hooked up to an active power outlet, and that all connections are secure.
Is your device securely connected? Very lightly wiggle the connection between your device and the charging cable/cradle. If it doesn't feel secure, try removing the device and connecting it again.

Does your device think it's charging?Verify that your device is charging: look at the battery meter at the top of the Applications Launcher screen. It displays a "lightning bolt" symbol over the battery when it's charging.

Have you tried a soft reset? If your device won't turn on, or if it's experiencing other problems, a soft reset may be in order.

Have you tried an in-cradle reset? You may need to do this to reset the charging circuitry.

Are you ready for a hard reset? A hard reset will erase all the data on your handheld, but it might be necessary to alleviate problems caused by third-party applications or other causes.

If after trying the above your device still won't charge or turn back on, replace your device.

THis actually works. Sometimes I even give the my Treo 650 a good shake (although not really recommendable) to knock particles loose that are caught up and then I pop the battery out and back in and wha-la problemed solved, Take a piece of paper and run it along underneath the edges of the hardcasing around the screen. give it a good cleaning maybe a shake or two and try taking battery out and put it back in.

Hope it helps. I know the feeling of a dead Treo. Its happened to me about 10 times now and I "fix" in the manner I just explained

    Good luck
