This would be a good FAQ:

How do I view my PRL version on my 700p?

    Hey Poopsie,

What profile app are you using, and where'd you get it? I presume you like it?

I don't use one anymore, didn't have any use for it. Others have said they are great, but I didn't like it. In fact, I deleted it a couple days after I posted this and I can't remember the name of the proggy-Sorry

I don't hear ringtones through a wired headset when I receive a call. Is this a common problem? It is for me when I'm wearing a Shure isolating headphone as I don't know I'm getting a call. This is true whether or not I'm listening to mp3.

Can I transfer my Call Log from my Treo 600 or 650 to my 700p?

I was curious about this one and spent some time digging it out of the forums.

Poopsie thanks for all the effort.

My question is tho, I read the accessories thread and I just want clarification, will my T650's battery work in the T700p?

    Edit....

I did find the answer, I had forgotten I posted this question in a thread I created.

FWIW yes it does. The 650's battery DOES work in the 700.

Just in case you wanted to add this specifically.

Thanks again poopsie for all your effort and time.

Why can't I hotsync over bluetooth with IBM Thinkpad's builtin bluetooth (worked with my 650)?

See solution part way down 2nd page here:

Is there any way to have files/folders on an SD card automatically included in a hot sync with a 700p? I have FileZ, and in its View/Edit Files mode, the menu allows me to select which files I want hot synced automatically when PalmCard is selected. But when I select the External Card, there is no such option.

A BIG thanks to all of you for the many postings that have helped so much since my first Treo 180.

Maybe I jsut missed it, but I think a good FAQ would be: How to I properly transition from a 650 to a 700p? I know there is a thread like that for going from the 600 to the 650. Or maybe its not complicated going from 650-700? Is it jsut a simple think like doing a hotsync to the same profile? I know if u do that when going from 600 to 650, you brick your new 650.

This needs to be added to the FAQ:

SSL Error: No trusted root. Update certificate authority list.' (when using VersaMail 3.5)

This article applies to 700p smartphones. It also applies to Treo 650, Palm TX and LifeDrive devices that have added VersaMail 3.5 (info).

A change was made in VersaMail 3.5 to better accommodate SSL encryption. VersaMail will now reference the Certificate Authority of your SSL Certificate and compare it to a list of trusted Certificate Authorities to ensure it is valid.

Because of this, you may receive an SSL error when using VersaMail 3.5 with Exchange ActiveSync if the Certificate Authority of the SSL Certificate you are using is not included in the trust list on the device (for instance, if your company is using a self-signed certificate).

Here is the Certificate Authority trust list included in VersaMail 3.5:

If the Certificate Authority for your SSL Certificate is not on this list, and you are using SSL with Exchange Active Sync, you will not be able to send or receive mail from your device, and will receive an SSL error.

NO SELF-SIGNED SSL CERTIFICATES for the 700p PERIOD...but you can buy DataViz RoadSync (for EAS) or one of the IMAP-enabled programs to substitute for VersaMail.....

I am selling my Sprint Palm Treo 700p (250.00)

I managed to erase all of my contacts emails etc...

When I use the code ##3282# code; I still see my sprint pcs email. It also has the phone number of the phone listed under voicemail.

Is there any way to wipe all data from the phone? I want to sell it but I am worried about someone possibly using the data left on the phone and me getting penalized for it.

Remove the battery, hold down the red power button and reinsert the battery. When powered up with a logo (varies by provider), release the button and follow the on screen instructions to erase all data. That should do the trick.
