with all of the "bugs" on the 700p, it's worth its weight in gold to be able to stream my local radio channels with streamcenter!

Wide Page Mode is in Menu-->Options. You might have to play around with it but just so you don't think I'm pulling your leg I attched some proof.

Question for those that stream on the 700p.

How does the 700's battery consumption compare to 650's while streaming audio via ptunes?
Made this just for fun...I'm Kermit

I'm trying to get M3U to play, it's an icecast video and audio feed but everytime I download the file it doesn't show up as .m3u it shows up as buildm3u with no . in it. Is there a way I can edit the file name after I download it or something, I can't even find it. Or is there a program that I can open the URL up in and associate a player with it?

It works. I confirm it. And the quality of streaming video is mind blowing. 500% better than MobiTV (or sprint TV, pick you poison). It buffers sometimes, but still its best streaming video i experienced to date.

Has anyone started a campaign to have the video search engines (like Guba, Atom film/ifilms, Blinx, Google, yahoo, searchforvideo, tvworldwide, thefeedroom, theplatform, and I am sure I can think of others) help us find 700p compatible audio and video so we don't have to post every link we come across?

Seems that would be a better way to locate everything efficiently.

I can read the text on that stream, even with your fuzzy picture!

Can somebody tell me, with Sprint ultimate vision (the 25 dollar one), how many TV channels can you get. And which other channels you have to pay separatedly?

How do I add an ogg stream to the player? Can't figure it out (I listen to metalexpressradio)

    Thanks

OK, I just typed the URL into Blazer, but Ptunes says unsupported media format, while the ptunes site says that they support (maybe not _my_ version of ptunes?)

Its the same freaking 20 channels from MobiTV. Other SprintTV channels like CNN2Go cant be watched on Treo700P but with all other SprintTV compatible phones. Its no Sprint TV. Its MobiTV in Sprint package (in Sprint language "With MobiTV"). Thats it.

Soma.fm has some fantastic stations. I find myself listening to Groove Salad the most but they've got other ones - cliq hop, ambient, downtempo, indie, etc. You might want to visit them with a full-on browser first or you may have trouble navigating initially.

Also public radio KEXP is always great for original music, playing whole albums, great interviews.

    A few questions:

    * Has anyone had luck streaming Quicktime video? It always seems to fail for me, but my 650 recorded and played in QT, so I'm wondering why it fails to stream on the 700p.

    * Is there any way to add codecs/formats for when video stream errors out and says incompatible video format (e.g. the C-SPAN tv stations, or realplayer)?

    * Are there any web sites out there that provide stream downshifting? (I.e. from high bit rates to low bit rates, or even from real player to WMP). Not likely because of the bandwidth required, but I thought I'd ask.

first off the streamcenter pda site is just awesome....found a bunch of local stations as well as others around the country...good find!

I am a little worried about using the minixm site...it is not xmradios own site as far as I can determine...even did a lookup on the IP..minixm.com is not registered to xm radio. Maybe I am paranoid, but I am a little concerned about typing in my account access info into this site...I would love to stream XM, and am a subscriber.

Lastly...anyone have any luck with any of the google video site..I tried and could see the page, but couldnt' launch the videos...seemed to be running a javascript which the browser didnt' like. anyone have a workaround for getting the google videos to work.

So far the phone has been just awesome....streamed a bunch of radio stations and they just sound great through the crappy headphones that come with the unit.
