The credit on your account is only temporary. When I bought mine this morning I was told the payment I gave them for the phone will show up on my account as a credit until the transaction is completed. I think what they do is bill the price of the phone to the account at the end of the billing cycle, which is why the amount you paid for the phone shows up as a credit on your account.

Kind of similar to a credit card. Debits and credits show on your account during the billing cycle and are balanced at the end of the cycle. I just don't know why they choose to do it that way. They can just as easily bill directly to the credit card and keep the two transactions separate. Twisted Sprint sense, indeed.

Happened to me a month back when they sent me a new 6700... I was all excited to until the next billing cyle came... they fixed it. So don't plan on having the credit much longer.

Yep, on the phone now with them... it will be a credit and then they debt the amount of the phone from you account.

Actually this happened to me last october when I contacted sprint about upgrading my 600 to a 650. It was supposed to be an even exchange(I send them my old 600 and they send me the 650) Anyways, They sent me the 650 and forgot to subtract $500 from my account. And when I sent them the 600 they credited me for $500. I didnt have to pay a sprint bill till this month (May 2006) SWEET!!!
