I would like Orb a whole lot better if there was a way to stream audio and cut the screen off while you listen and/or do other things on the 700 while listening. Since I have no interest in streaming video, Orb is worthless to me.

If you are just interested in streaming audio from your own computer, I have used Shoutcast Server. Information and the free download files are at: http://www.shoutcast.com/download/serve.phtml

Basically, you are able to use WinAmp and your own Shoutcast server to stream whatever source that you would like from your computer. You can use pTunes to receive and play them.

Depends... if you get your TV feed in via analog cable or antennae (ie, without a set-top box), orb can change the channel just fine. Orb can also change channels via an IR blaster, if that's already set up in an XP MCE box.

I don't have a tv tuner, but I do have an very old Logitech Webcam that was in the closet. Hooked it up and can get live video(and audio), record live video, and playback recorded video from the camera on the phone.

Once the camera was installed, Orb found it on the first try. I get about a nine second delay from the time I move in the camera and when the video sees it on the phone.

I have access to an IP security camera at work. Thinking I want to bring that home and give it a try this weekend.

So question... can someone verify once and for all whether kinoma can play an Orb-originated audio stream in the background, while you continue to websurf? Or does the Kinoma need to stay the active application?

If that's the case, then the combination of gloonet and Pockettunes-deluxe is probably a better solution for streaming mp3s from the home PC (definitely plays fine in the background).

Kinoma MUST be active. you cannot switch screens or press the red button to turn off the screen.. sucks.

ok, found the high quality setting. It is actually in Orb portal.

Next question, I am streaming video fine and it looks good but is very small. Does not take up much room on the screen. Is there a way to make it bigger and still keep the quality?

When you are streaming, press the up key.
You should see a little toolbar thingy.
In the lower right hand corner is a little button.
Pressing it changes the size of the video.
It usually fills the screen at one of the settings.
But I don't think it can make that tiny video bigger and still look good.

Sorry.. Kinoma player is not an upgrade to the streaming player. So it won't help you with ORB.

Its great for making your own movies and playing form a SD card. It can create streamable .pdb files only Kinoma 3EX can play, but I have had issues with it working well.
