Get filez. You can change attributes. I think it will unlock the files too

Another great uploader is Rumkin. One thing i like about Rumkin is that you can use a jump code (think of it as an order number) instead of using text messages.

As far as converting to aac, I use Dbpoweramp Music Converter. It's a great, free program that's easy to use. Don't forget that you need to download the aac codec from their codec central, it doesn't come with the program.

Anybody know of a way to make all ringtone sounds available in Versamail? What is the freakin' point of limiting your choices of alerts anyway?

EDIT: I found this post which helps some, but I still can't get my uploaded ringtones to show in the Versamail alerts list. All I get are the MIDI ringers that are preloaded. This seems to have something to do with the fact that uploaded ringtones are saved as individual files like "ton-(filename)" and are separate from the MIDI ringtones. Any way to add the uploaded files to this list OR to make Versamail search for "ton-xxx" files like the phone apps do?

For the people who are asking about (and getting ignored) emailing, using bluetooth, or IR to send the AAC ringtones, I believe this has already been determined to not work. Not sure though. About a week ago one of the first people to get their 700p was posting that mp3s and AAC didn't work. I know he tried alot of different ways but I can't say he tried all of them. Now that I think about it he was a Verizon customer I believe. Maybe one of these methods will work on the Sprint version.

Only files smaller than 64k can be used as ringtones.

I have Coldplay's "Speed of Sound" as my ringtone, I used mptrim to cut it down. I should have cut it down more, it's 1658k. It works as my ringtone even thought it's that big. I checked in manage sounds and that's the size. You can have bigger files than 64k.

This isn't true, several of mine are between 100kb to 200kb.

Really?!? Whenever I try to download a sound file larger than 64k I get a message that says "Files larger than 64k cannot be used as ringtones." Do you guys get that message, but it works anyway?

EDIT: Just checked, I only get this message for wav files, not aac.

I think it can be as big as you want it to be. I am going to edit mine, I don't need 1:30 for a ringtone, lol. After I saw this thread and instructions I tried it out. Now most of my aac ringtones are between 250-600k.

another one for larger that 64k... most of mine are ~500k, im doing about 25 second clips, at 128 aac

    EDIT:

Also, you guys savin these to an SD or the phone? I've left em on the phone for now... but i see that getting crowded

    DOUBLE EDIT:

Anyone wanna throw a site together? Or, I could throw it together, anyone wanna participate... gather some AAC action, or does that cross lines
