No one can say that Sprint does not take care of its customers. I just got my 700p from Palm for $549 with the developers discount and free 1GB SD card. I called Sprint CS and got credited $300 on my account for signing a new 2 year agreement (even thought I just recently renewed my 2 year agreement only about a month ago). So $249 net for the 700p! Needless to say, they have "bought" my loyalty. Having just sold my 650 for $349 on eBay, I've "profited" from this upgrade.

Wow, so your sure that credit wasnt only if you bought from sprint? They told me my credit would go away if i didnt buy the 700 in store

Didja say anything special to get the $300 off? Was this retentions or regular CS? Did you have to say you were cancelling? Any info is appreciated - thanks!

Would also like to know. How long have you been a customer aswell?

I believe the rep was from "Account Services", which I think may be the new name for "Retentions". I'm sure the credit is on my account regardless of who I buy from because the rep said it was fine and she didn't seem to care. Also, when I call customer service now, an automated voice tells me that I have a credit. Lastly, I did mention that I'm a long-time customer that would like to continue with Sprint but that Verizon had the phone for $399 for new customers. That seemed to be enough.

Also, Did they make you change anything with your plan or any current discounts that you get?
  7. #27
I've been a customer since 11/04 and have a sweet retentions plan that they did not change.

Ok, just wondering. I have been with them since sometime in 1997 so I would hope they would be willing to do the same.

Im pretty happy with my retentions experience as well. Ive been a customer since 1997, I ordered a 700 through Palm (w/new line) for $449 *dev discount included. I called retention to cancel my phones (I had 1 phone under contract until November and 2 out of contract).

Currently, All 3 of my phones share a 2000 anytime with nights and weekends at 7 PM and I was paying $135 a month (with a 13% corp discount).

They put the 700 on my account and gave me a $150 service credit making the 700 $299.00. They also gave me a 1000 anytime nights and weekends @7 for $40 with $10 powervision and set my oher 2 phones up for 750 shared mins with n&w 7 PM for $50 and increased my discount to 18% (added a 5% loyalty discount) . So in the end I have my 650 which I can trade back to palm *it has a small crack in the screen so I think $150 is fair and am paying about $40 less a month in fees with power vision included.

$399 at Sprint retentions. No arguements. Just a yes to match Verison. UPS in 2-3 days. And I can sell the 650 on EBay. Good deal. Thanks for the info, guys!

Just called and they said they had no more 700P. Strange?
Has anyone else heard of this?
    Thanks!
    Alan

PS: Great info on this thread!

You are not actually getting 18% off, you are getting 13% and then 5%. It will be divided up on you bill into two discounts. I get 5% & 20% off my bill and that is before I add my corp discount of 23%.

I hope they are telling you the truth. As I mentioned in another thread, I purchased yesterday afternoon through retentions and called today - said it was on backorder and I would get it in 7 to 14 days. I hope this is just an exaggeration.

It should show the full credit on your account... sooo if you can find a local store that has one just go get it anc charge it to your account.

Just found out that a local store has 3 of them and I am going to call retentions and try to get it for the $349.99-399.99 and pick it up at the local store.

Saw your post in another thread. I just called to check on my order too. They were on back order but just got a shipment in. She flagged my order to ship today for overnight delivery. You should call again. Just FYI. Good luck.

I called Sprint retentions with the fact that I could cancel my service for $150 and start a new service under Verizon and still pay less than the Sprint 700 for $679 (and I am eligible for a $150 discount).
    So here is what happened:
"Angel" spent a couple minutes researching my claim that Verizon was in fact cheaper she then told me that she would use my $150 discount (bringing it to $529) then she would credit my account $130 if I go to a Sprint store and buy it for $529.
sounds great i will have to try this.. how do i get the retention department..if it doesnt work i might just goto verizon

Thanks to this post, got mine for 329.99 tax & shipping included. Should be here either Friday or Monday. I wish there was a way you could just go down to the sprint store and pick one up if you pay through the CSR over the phone.......
