"IT IS CALLED"... I think that is sarcasm. I responded accordingly. That and the fact that I asked a question to someone who can test what I was hoping to have tested, that's all. Not like I'm asking for something else, must be a reason I asked maybe... Oh, because I was curious about that specific app!!! So if someone who has the capability of doing so could just test it out, that'd be cool. If not, please don't tell me what "it is called". Thanks though, and I apologize for snapping. Must be all this waiting for the new Treo that got to me or something.
    This should clear everything up:

I find it sad/odd that people ask to be thanked. How genuine is it when you have to ask? It's like forcing your kid to call Grandma, to thank her for the new underwear she sent for their birthday.

He was trying to help since he actually has a 700P and you were a jackovv to him.

I suggest know one test your stupid app for you.
Thanks for watching my back dutch.

I'm hoping to get (or provide--the phone has been shipped) the answer to this, too. I am hopeful that the 700p' BT 1.2 implementation will be more stable with my Acura TL than the 650 has been. Frankly, this is one reason I am upgrading.

Yeah, new phones turn me into a total d!ck also.
Oh no, wait, they don't. Then that means you're just a d!ck.

    This will explain things:

Did stingrey edit his original follow-up reply? Because I don't see any sarcasm or rudeness there. I just see him clarifying why he wants the answer to the question he asked. ScaryHumor's original response may be useful for many and could have been useful for stingrey, but stingrey explained the reasons why he wanted to know about this specific app (works even when outside of coverage) and he gets told he's being ungrateful? What am I missing?

stingrey, I'd try to help you out but my 700p hasn't arrived yet. I'd be pretty surprised if it didn't work, though. 650->700p compatibility issues should be pretty limited, but you never know what Palm might have "fixed."
Now THIS is the future of smartphones.

Thanks, Scott. The main concern I have is that I'm making this journey from my original 600, not the 650, so I don't even know if Showtimes runs on the 650 to be honest... Thanks for your support!

I'm thinking we'll be pleasantly suprised in this area... Did you see that other post re: the (I think) Infiniti's hands free system working flawlessly now vs. the 650? I'm pretty sure I saw that here, if not, sorry. Regardless, it seems to be more stable with that car, that is exactly what I'm looking for in this instance, too. We shall see.

Similar to you (not exact since you're upgrading from a 650 obviously), that is exactly why I held out for the 700p :) In the meantime, my 600 has been great for me since it came out. All in all, these phones are really cool. To be able to have "custom" apps on 'em to do things that other phones cannot (i.e. Showtimes, ssh and vnc apps) just doesn't make sense to some people, but to me it is pretty cool.

The jerks? Now now....wasn't it YOU who cut me for my typo?

And if it meant "know one" as in "know the one", did it mean "KNOW" the one in a biblical sense? Regardless, I'm not down for knowing the one who didn't answer the question.

He edited it. Then makes me & dutch out to be jerks.
Read any of my previous posts. I've never been a jerk to anyone. Life's too short, but then so is stingrey (see attached).
Does this make me a jerk? Nah, just having fun. Better a smarta$$ than a sting, er, um, a dumba$$.

The guy (or gal) asked a very specific question, which you then either didn't read completely, or misinterpreted. Regardless, your answer had little to do with the question. The guy (or gal) provided specific links for crying out loud.

That doesn't mean you didn't try to help--you obviously did.

But stingrey's "original follow-up reply" was already edited by the time dutchtrumpet replied. If anything, dutchtrumpet's initial post to this thread was the one out of line, and caused the absurd snowballing effect that followed.

It's a shame that someone is derided for merely clarifying a question they already were rather specific about in the first place.

BTW: If you have a copy of this mysterious, unedited, and more caustic version of stingrey's "original follow-up reply" by all means post it. I cannot see that much editing going on in a mere 3 minutes. But if it truly was in poor taste, I'll retract my comments.
