No, I've got instant access. Sorry dude.
    Did you get a lemon?
I don't have 1500 contacts, more like 500. But still, there's tons of memory.
I find it sad/odd that people ask to be thanked. How genuine is it when you have to ask? It's like forcing your kid to call Grandma, to thank her for the new underwear she sent for their birthday.

Did you reinstall all your 650 apps from a backup? I would suggest reloading apps one by one in case some app/hack (or system file) that was backed up from your 650 might be causing problems.
Now THIS is the future of smartphones.

You may try this to troubleshoot.

    1. Install the palm sync software on a second computer (or second login on your computer) and sync your 1500 contacts treo to it.
    2. Once that completes, go on that 2nd computer and delete 1000 or so contacts.
    3. Sync your treo with that 2nd computer again, which should remove 1000 of your contacts.
    4. Do a search and see if it freezes.

If it does not freeze, then either you have a lemon or Palm has issues with the 1500 contacts. My guess would be the latter.

I would suggest a hard reset before syncing back to your 1st computer (or regular login) to prevent the Treo from removing those contacts from it.

Another option would be to contact palm and ask if doing a search with that many contacts should cause a freeze up.

It sounds like you did a wholesale hotsync of the contents of your last device to your 700p; that's never a good idea.

    1. Rename your desktop /Palm/<username>/Backup directory (to, say, Backup.old)

    2. Hard Reset the 700p

    3. Hotsync

That'll load your PIM data, but none of your 3rd party software. Test Contacts now - I bet you'll see a big improvement. Then reinstall your T650 apps, one or two at a time, testing latency as you go.

Seems like after all these years of being on 5xxx palm would have it right. We settle for less. Not a bad thing... just the way it is, I guess. Nothing better to compare it with, so maybe we have no choice.
