It's a little app. that shows up like any other in your launcher. When you tap on the icon, it turns the Treo's radio on, tap it again and it'll turn the radio off.
Why? The red phone button does this already.
I find it sad/odd that people ask to be thanked. How genuine is it when you have to ask? It's like forcing your kid to call Grandma, to thank her for the new underwear she sent for their birthday.

If I have my Treo in its holster when I come into work and forget to turn the phone off, I can assign this app. to the side button (which is accessible when my Treo is in its holster) and easily turn off the phone this way without having to remove it from the holster it is in. Besides, it's only 6Kb.

Don't live there. Do business there. I'm about 35 miles north.

My local Sprint store in Chicago has it in stock! I went over there, and they were in the process of selling to me, but then said they couldn't because the official launch date wasn't until the 28th, they said the serial number was locked out of their system and there was nothing that they could do.

I was very close to that box! They did have one on display and it looked great.

oh well. anyone else have this problem?

IMO, they lied to you. Did you see them try to activate it? Or did someone just tell you that you couldn't have it?
    What store was this?

If you had said: "I am a new customer and I want to start service" they would have sold it to you or reserved it for tomorrow. that is why they have it out. you can bet by the time you try and get it tomorrow they woudl have sold out.

just called the local store, confirmed they have the 700 and when i ask if I can buy one. She reply " you'll have to come in to get it." LOL

It was the store on Division and Clark.

I suspected that they wanted me to start new service with it and that was why they wouldn't just sell me the phone. I didn't want to renew my contract. He then said ok, he'd just sell it to me. Offered to save me another 150 by getting me a new contract (and a new phone number btw). I declined. He pressed a few things. went to the "manager" and then came back and said that the serial number wouldn't input into their computer so there was no way he could sell it to me until the 28th. He did offer to hold if for me though.

I guess it is serendipity though. As I was leaving I got an email (to my 650 using chatteremail and pushed with emailtreo.com account!) that my order at Palm had been processed. A few hours later, another email saying that it has been shipped! No tracking number yet, but my card has been charged...or so they say.

In any event, I guess I'll save on tax. I was really looking forward to taking phone porn pics with it today. You know, opening the box, holding it my hand. All the obligatory shots we love to see!

Just picked up mine 700 thx for the tip! I am charging it up and reading up how to do "clean" install. I do have 1 month free Vision not planning to keep it since I have internet @ work and home.

BUSY - PLAY WITH MY TREO (hmmm doesn't sound right...who cares!)

That's great. Hope you like it.

Out of curosity, you bought it at the clark and division store, right? Did you sign up for a new 2 year contract? Do you remember who sold it to you? It was a tall african-american man that gave me the big denial. That was at 11am, he was probably gone.

cool. let us know your impressions.

I must wait for it to be delivered, it should be here on tues or wed.

Yeah, I don't understand why you need a 700P if you're not going to use data connectivity? If that's the case, why not just use the 650. Is the added memory and better camera worth the extra money??

Hi zyprexa, I got it in Downers Grove it's closer to me. The two kids in there just type in the computer and hand treo to me! I actually called bofore hand to confirm that they'll sell to me.

Hi Trim, no Vision? well... I am usually at work or home...both places have internet. beside that I'll be "driving" in Chi town traffic...it's bad. no need for internet there. why not 650? because I am upgrading from Treo 300 go figure. I still remember walking throught airport... kids pointing at my gun...NOOOO it's Treo 300

so far i am very very impress with the download speed. Of course my wife just kicked me out of the bedroom...because I wouldn't stop playing with the Treo LOL. I will be loading the software once I fully recharge again. good nite all! sweet treo...oh I mean dreams.
