I followed instructions from another thread and I have Shadowmite's mtty.exe which I used to dump the ROM to a blank SD card and I just downloaded Hex Workshop so if anyone knows what to do from there I'm game...
  3.    #103
    Upload it to rapidshare.de
    and post link here.
    zip it if you can.

Problem is that if I go to the drive letter assigned to my card reader, it wants to format. I installed Hex Workshop but don't have the first clue how to use it so if you want to give me some instructions I'll be more than happy to post what I've got...
  5.    #105
How hard was it to get it on the card in the first place?
    Just call me Berd.
  6. #106
    Followed the instructions from here:

    http://discussion.treocentral.com/sh...d.php?t=115570

Wasn't hard but the ram2sd took a while. I'm wondering if I did that part right or not. It said it was done so I tried to reset my phone but nothing happened so I just yanked the battery. Maybe there was a more graceful way to complete the process?
  7. #107
Gotta leave work now, I'll copy mtty and Hex Workshop to my good SD and take my other card with me. I'll check back for more instructions when I get everything going on my laptop at home later tonight.

Also I have an old 128 SD card that wasn't doing much so I deleted everything off of it and did the ram2sd command.

I have a card reader and everything so let me know what else I can do to help, thanks for your time!!!!

PS, Pressing the reset button is not kicking me back out of bootloader mode like it did on the 650. I have to actually pop the battery to get back out.

Excellent - I think you have an SD card with the RAW ROM image and the bootloader. Hopefully we can extract it!

The first folder did not upload completely. Below is a new link as of 8:35 CST. When unzipped there should be a total of 463 files, totaling 25 mb. Sorry for the confusion.

Use at your own risk. I accept no responsibility for content, or you damaging your Treo.

I am not a developer, nor can I answer
    technical questions about it

    Not that I won't, it's because I can't.

I find it sad/odd that people ask to be thanked. How genuine is it when you have to ask? It's like forcing your kid to call Grandma, to thank her for the new underwear she sent for their birthday.

Okay - if one of you gets Hex Workshop pointed at an SD card, you can dump it this way:

    Select "Disk/Open Drive..." menu item
Select "Physical drives" from the drop-down
Pick the SD card with your data
Select the "Disk/Save Sectors..." menu item
    Select "entire disk" and save
ZIP and upload to the FTP site

    ok, here's the link:

I keep getting an error when I try to connect Hex workshop to my SD card so I stuck a screen shot of that in the zip file too. I was planning on doing this from home last night but we lost power.

    Because you asked so nicely...

There's nothing to sign up for. They do try to sell you something. That's why it's free. Click the free download, and it makes you watch a banner for about 20 seconds, then the download begins.
Nothing to sign up for, no registering.
Chill dude. These people are trying to do us all a favor.

Just looked at your website www.twg.org
    Definately shows your internet prowess.

I'll put it on my FTP server with virtually unlimited bandwidth...

Awesome... this has the bootloader and everything we need!! Thanks jwflutterby! I'll take a look with the disassembler when I have a chance.

It's uploading now, but it will take a few minutes (slow upload bandwidth). When it's done, it should be approx. 14.8 MB (15,533,127 bytes)

yeah, the only reason I used that site is because someone asked me to, I'd never tried it before. I usually just use my Comcast or GeoCites acccounts to post files...
