Same here. Considering that I have worked in a call center in the past, I understand all to well how rude customers can be. However, you have to learn to understand their their frustration is with the situation and not you (unless you caused it). Customers generally have a difficult time separating the employee from the company. Unless you learn to live with that, your days will suck at work.

I'm not saying everyone is calling in pissed. But I am posting this rant in the "Bash Sprint" thread, because likely the people here will be in a foul mood when they talk to one of my colleagues. So I'm trying to help alleviate (SP?) the problem.

Always remember this rule when dealing with a Sprint Rep. You get more flies with Honey than you do with Vinegar.

I personally hate the "squeaky wheel gets the grease" rule. Thats my purpose. At my store, we really do bend over backwards for those great customers.

That is a very big generalization. Informed and educated customers usually know that it's the company which is to blame for most of the problems. Again, you have to understand that it is the staff which make up the company and if one person screws up (Sprint billing issues come to mind, where a rep mistakenly added charges) then it reflects on to the entire staff of that company. If you have mostly lower income people calling in, surely you will have a harder time dealing with them since they will most likely be the rudest and blame everything on the person who answers the phone.

I worked at a very large ISP previously and I got a whole range of people from all walks of life. Very rarely did an irate person acknowledge that they were not mad at me, but at the company. However, once I got into managemen there, it did get better.

Listen to the guy who's talking about generalization say this at the end of his post.

well, you ***** that is just how the world works. Do you expect a person who is a High School drop out to act in the same manner as a person with a PHD? Think before you comment on something moron.

Maybe we should start a new thread called "Treocentral Bashing" where we can insult our fellow members...lol.

Everyone has made their point, so lets all just chill out. Tensions are high because we all want our new toys, so lets just leave it at that.

Sure thing but I don't even respond to that stuff because I think it speaks for itself. No use arguing with a brick wall.

The problems with the release of the 700p were not the fault of the CSRs, stores , or telesales. Those folks had nothing to do with getting the phones out, or getting the phone into the system. Although I, like many others, was frustrated this weekend, I do not blame those that I have spoken with. To a person, they have all been as helpful as they could be, and very polite.

For sure, it's not clear whether it was Sprint's fault as a company or Palm's. Either way it wasn't anything that anyone you would talk to on the phone could do so take it for what it is and be nice.

And you can clearly understand Verizon shoving out some 700p's if they wanted to one up Sprint or if it had been a release error in only a few cases, it does happen you know.

Went to Sprint Store. Asked about the 700p. Guy comes out with the box. They got ONE and its for the display. What a tease. Told me they would get more next week. Went to another SPRINT store that told me yesterday that they wouldn't have it for a month. Asked today anyway. They had two. Bought one and the other one was being picked up later by someone. You don't even want to know other stuff that I went through today after getting it..

I personally like the "guy with shotgun gets whatever the f@#k he wants" approach.

    And now:
My 700P will be better than your 700p!

    Signed,

    P.s. Bow before me!

Don't just see the n00b, be the n00b! Wait, no...
