I didn't see this anywhere, but feel free to correct me. If you join the palm developer community here: http://pluggedin.palm.com/regac/pluggedin/index.jsp

When you are signed in, on the left, click on Buy / Product Discount Program.

When you select the 700p and add it to your cart, the discount will automatically be applied.

"Palm™ is happy to offer our PluggedIn developers discounts on products through the Palm Treo and handheld stores. Current discounts are $100 off of one Treo (*one per year, per developer)and up to 25% off of LifeDrives, handhelds and accessories. "

This can be in addition to any Sprint or Verizon upgrade rebates. Here's Sprint's: http://slickdeals.net/?sduid=103027&...tpcs/index.jsp

So would this apply to the 2 year contract price of $399?

So $299 out the door plus tax?

Are you sure about this (for Sprint)? I was thinking these upgrade rebates were only available thru a Sprint store purchase.

Well I did it, went ahead and ordered with the developer discount. Actually I was a member of the developer group already, but had just forgot I had previously registered. Unfortunately I was charged sales tax at checkout. This saves me a little bit from buying from Sprint as I was only eligible for the $75 upgrade discount, so it saves me $25. I just hope we get our 700p's as fast as I could if I purchased thru a store. We'll see.

It depends on your location if you are charged sales tax...

So Wolfpack, what was your total out the door?

    Wolfpack...

That $75 is mail-in. If you are going to renew your contract, you should still qualify for it.... I would at least check to see if that is the case - save yourself a little more money...

When I got my 650 through the roadshow purchase discount, I also got the sprint discount. had to fill out a form I got from the local Sprint store and mail it in with my reciept

The mystery here is that a actual MIR form can't be found. Just got back from my local Sprint store that said they didn't have any forms...that all they do is a instant rebate. If any one has a current upgrade rebate form...please PM me or post it. TIA.

How long does this promotion last? I hope it doesn't end soon because then I'd have to jump and order the treo 700p right away.

This promotion ($100 developer's discount) is probably going to be pulled pretty soon as people are abusing it. People who haven't written any code in their life are signing up as developers and using the discount.

I'd like to second this request. My local Sprint store swears that I AM eligible and there WILL BE a mail-in rebate form, but they don't have them yet. I don't really trust anything I get told in a Sprint store. I want to see this thing in writing!

I too just ordered from Palm (Sprint 700p), using the $100 developer discount. That, combined with the $75 upgrade rebate I qualify for from Sprint is a pretty good deal for an existing Sprint customer. My cost from Palm was $549, with free overnight shipping and no sales tax (VA).

Palm states that the Sprint version should ship in a week. Once I have the 700p in hand, my 650 will be put up for sale, with a bunch of extras I have for it.

I'm not counting on the $75 upgrade rebate at all. I had purchased a 6700 a month or so back and got the $75 upgrade discount (not rebate) then. I immediately returned the 6700 because I didn't like it and supposedly they put a note on my account that I would still be eligible for the rebate, but I'm not counting on it.

Everyone better watch out, this is what is posted on the Palm Developer's site:

    Terms and Conditions:
This Palm Developer Discount Program store is offered as a registered PluggedIn developer benefit. As a condition of using this store, the developer agrees to keep pricing information confidential. Abuse of this agreement can result in the termination of developer's access privileges.

They're going to yank this offer very quickly.
    Make It Happen!!
    If you don't, who will?
