The fact that someone posted this on SlickDeals tells me that it will be shut down soon rather than later.... There are so many people that are going to go the Developer route....

The developer deal vs Sprint in store?

Unless I'm missing something, It may pretty much be a wash.

The developer deal is $549 - $150 for having a phone with Sprint for 2 years.

I called Customer Care and they said the Sprint stores will have the phone for $649 - $150 (since I'm eligible) - $100 instant rebate.

2 different reps gave 2 different answers, but the $100 instant may only be for new customers.

I'm sure Palm doesn't care. They are probably getting slammed by people signing up and ordering phones. These may even be people who weren't planning on getting such an expensive phone but couldn't pass up a good deal.

How much do you thing it costs Palm to make the phone? If it was that much, and the carriers actually had to buy it for that, I don't think Sprint and other carriers would give $150 to us.

How many people took advantage of the upgrade deal posted on this site when the 600 first came out?

The deal was something like $300 for the 600 if you supplied a Treo 300 serial number. Several threads were posted about simply making up serial numbers and the promotion never got shut down.

I just tried to buy the phone from the Palm site and I am NOT a current Sprint user and it still wanted to charge me $549

How does someone get it for $399?
ONE can be spelled as NEO.
    There is no spoon.

    From my Post #200

palmphreak01, I assume you ordered a Sprint phone. Looking at the fine print, the Sprint $399 offer includes a $150 discounts off of your future invoices, not an instant rebate! You can get the $399 out the door pricing for a Verizon phone, but not for Sprint (I went through the order process for Verizon also).
Very irradic pricing on their site. I want a Sprint phone, but I want an instant rebate, not a credit on my bills. I ordered one time, and the billing cost was $549, ordered another time and the billing was $499, and earlier in this post someone paisted a Sprint billing for $449. Regardless, I'll guess I'll wait for Sprint to start selling it, since I want the $150 discount (w 2 yr plan) off the cost of the phone purchase - not off of future billings. Thanks.

im ready to join the ordered from palm club.... but if you order it from Palm, does sprint honor the insurrance plans and stuff? Or does the phone have to come from sprint directly?

Were you able to combine the 1GB SD Card with the developer discount?

You most likely can combine it. I tried to add it on, and was told I'd have to place a new order. It wasn't worth it it for me, try it out and let us know.

THIS IS GRRRRRRRRRRRREAT! $100.00 off the Treo 700p! WOOHOO! I'm so glad I came to this forum first before I went ahead and ordered this morning. $100 really does make a difference.

BTW, does anyone know if the Treo 700p comes with a case already?

wish i coulda seen the SD card offer last night but not gonna give up my place in line, order page says 1130pm last night the 21st, i think it was bout 230am eastern time here but I was definantly one of the first few people to order so not gonna lose my place in line when I already have a 1GB SD. hope to see that order status change from received to processing in the next few days. Hopefully they will ship them out end of this week since we all know they have them ready to go
  18. #219
Ufortunately people have short memories, The exact time of your order seems to have little effect on the order Palm ships your phone. Those that purchased the 600 and 650 from palm know that its pretty random. If you ordered on Day 1 you will get your phone within 1-2 days as everyone else but unfortunately unless their shipping process has changed a 2:01 AM order and a 2 PM order is still a coin flip over who gets it first

Yes, but it took a few times for it to finally work. Every time I would add in the developer discount, it would make the "free" 1GB SD $99. I guess I finally put things in my shopping cart in the correct order because it finally worked.
