    Hi,

Currently I'm very mobile and without a 'home' computer. I'm using NVBackup to keep my data safely backed up to my memory card. I don't have a computer to hotsync to.

Are there any issues with not running a hotsync? I seem to remember a comment somewhere that when you delete something on the palm, it is only marked for deletion, and the deletion is actually done later during hotsync. Is this true? Could my databases keep growing if I am constantly deleting things? This doesn't seem true for Versa Mail attachments at least, but for the main apps and other third party apps...

Any ideas? Anything else I should keep in mind if I don't use hotsync? Or is there a way to run Windows Hotsync from a memory stick (eg at a public terminal?)

    Thanks in advance,
    Friar.

That's true for your PIM apps (Calendar, Contacts, Tasks, Memos). You can clean up those deleted records using these directions (ignoring, of course, the last two steps ).

I've been doing that for the past year. I created two sets of backups, one is stored on the memory card, the other burned to a CD. Although I don't sync with my PC, I still have Palm Desktop installed because apps like PDANet requires the hotsysnc module. I don't know if there's a way to install the hotsync module only.
