Many Palm users do not know how to handle reset looping correctly. They always use 'Hard reset' as the only solution.

Actually, performing a system reset, also called a safe or warm reset, can solve this problem in most cases!

For Treo 650
1. Press the Battery Door Release button and slide the battery door downward to remove it from your Treo.
2. While pressing and holding Up , use the tip of the stylus to gently press the reset button on the back of your Treo.
3. When the Palm Powered logo appears, release Up.
4. Delete the potential software by using launcher or file manager like FileZ.
5. Perform a soft reset. The wireless features of your phone are not available until you complete this step.
6. You can try to install the software once again.

For Treo 600
1. Unscrew the stylus tip to access the reset tool.
2. While holding Up , use the reset tool to gently press the reset button
on the back of your Treo.
3. When the Palm Powered logo appears, release Up
4. Delete the potential software by using launcher or file manager like FileZ.
5. Perform a soft reset. The wireless features of your phone are not available until you complete this step.
6. You can try to install the software once again.

Although the above procedures are for Treo 600/650 only, other Palm powered machines can also perform a warm reset as well. Please check your device's user guide.

You can try to re-install the application again after a warm reset and it should be alright most of the time.

Reset looping can be caused by the system (e.g. improper software installation), the application itself or conflict between applications.
