Just recently upgraded to a 650 with Cingular but previously used Snappermail (1.9.2.01) on my Spring T600. Are there any glaring reasons to use one vs the other? I did like on SM the ability to delete individual messages off the server rather than having to do all or nothing and seem initially inclined to upgrade to the newest SM version.

    Any thoughts.

u might be interested in the poll here at TC, can't quite remember the Title, but I am pretty sure chatter came in first, then snapper, Versa lost miserably.

Stay away from Versamail... I thought I could put up with it... hell no...

Snappermail is wonderful on T650... tho many here do you chattermail (not for me)
Now it's the WAITING GAME: a GSM Palm Pre
    T680 (COPPER) + Cingular = FUN!!
    My T650 & 6230b and NX70 are retired... =(

I agree whole heartedly - the two top guys - SnapperMail and ChatterEMail and the top of the two is ChatterEMail. I have licenses for both and use ChatterEMail exclusively. The best thing I can suggest is to try them both and visist these forums. Issues such as efficient storage on the SD card, push mail, et cetera are worth looking into. Ben

I started the poll, so here it is:

Chatter was the clear winner with Snapper being a distant second. However, I personally like Snappermail more than Chatter. In fact, I love it. But definitely give Chatter a shot (trial) as it was overwhelmingly preferred by this forum's users.

    I hope this helps!

    How did snapper fall behind?
I use Snap and hate versa.
I guess the poll was pointed more at what ones use, rather than what's best.

Snapper's problems: It does not handle movement of email to the SD card as efficiently as ChatterEMail does. It does not handle the storeage of email on the SD card as efficiently as ChatterEMail does. Email is immediately saved on the SD card instead of at a preset time, as in Snapper. A crash of the databases created on the SD card by ChatterEMail clean up much easier than that of SnapperMail. Its support of IMAP is not as efficient as ChatterEMail. It has a larger memory footprint than ChatterEMail does. It is not as fast as ChatterEMail is. It is not supported as well as ChatterEMail does.

Speaking from experience, I own both. Ben

With Chatter, do you have the ability to delete individual items off the server? This is the one handy feature of SM that I like to have so when I download mail on vacation, I can go back and just delete the spam off the server.

Yes it does; you can delete it from the server or from the device or both. Give it a try for a couple of days. The big thing for me was its IMAP implimentation. Ben
