Thats what I've always said. If they were consistent, they'd lock threads once a question was answered, or after about 10 post...

    Crap, now I've gone OT.

    Absolutely, positively, MAYBE.

If our posts were limited solely to serious on topic discussions, they'd NEVER exceed a couple of dozen posts per thread because: (1) there's never any new info out there of any significance at any given time, and (2) we're always saying the same things (good taste; less filling) in two separate camps, all of the time.

And think of how boring it would be...

Well, 90% of us would be bored. The remaing 10% technerds would have a big stiffy if they could answer flashing snowflakes and do every n00bs searching for them.

Nice calendar! Let me see if I can create one that is just like it. I'll make sure that I add a 'p' behind the 700.

AMEN. We'd have to go back to Morse Code like little kids passing notes in junior high.

Ditto. Some nancyboy made mention of post count. I could give a flying crap about the postcount. I'm here to get a little info, some help from time to time, and have fun.

Too funny. I spent 5 min. looking for the image before posting. More info and speculation here than in the Library of Congress. Not too hard to miss.

Well, at least you didn't start a new thread.

I make no apologies. I suffer myself from drifting off-topic a lot. And I agree that TC is a great community, and off-topic posts and joking around is a part of that. But, like everything, there's a limit, and especially when you're talking about a thread that actually *does* have some useful information in it. When we've got hundreds of posts that have no value whatsoever, turning what could be a 3-page thread into a 30-page thread, it starts to *hurt* the usefulness of these forums, IMO. I shouldn't have to use the search facility to find the link to a yahoo photo album in a thread where that was the focus.
Now THIS is the future of smartphones.

6 Degrees of Technology Seperation has now evolved into TC being the center of the Treo Universe.

But we still have to deal with Perryitis, the need to quote yourself within every 5 posts. This fairly uncommon, till now, condition has been spreading faster then the bird flu at an Asian aviary.
