I searched and i didnt find anything on this, so i hope im not asking an obvious question, but since i like the SMS program that came with it (messaging v2.0) is there a way to lock the texts? or a general program that will handle everythign that i want to lock on my treo? that would be great to have one central app that would lock the camera, texts, pix and all those.

and if there isn't a way to lock the texts, is there another free messaging program out there that can lock SMS's? thanks

Not sure what ya mean but ya can "lock" the hole device via the Security app. Do you have the manual ? If not, you can find it here:

no, i mean lock the texts as in you have to put in a password when you want to enter the texting app. or to only lock the messaging app at certain times.

It's still rather confusing as to what you want, but with Applock

you can choose one or more applications to be protected by a single password, and you can easily enable or disable the lock requirement for the entire chosen set. I have used it and it does what it claims to do. But as you see, its not free.

Maybe it would help us if you described in more detail the sort of situation/s in which you would use the feature/s you are looking for.

    cheers

The security app locks the whole Treo either "on demand", at certain times or whatever. If someone picks up ya Treo they have to type in a password to even see the txt'ing icon or any other icon for that matter. All that will display in my case is a "I have obviously lost my Treo and you have found it please call....." message

If you just have a nosey GF and want to hide text messages, Applock would seem to fit the bill.
