I want to sync to Outlook after syncing for many years to Palm Desktop.
    1. How do I get all old data into Outlook?
    2. How do I change the setting, so syncing wil be to Outlook in the future?

    1. Do last synch to PD
    2. Copy C:\ProgramFiles\palm\[yourusername] file to another directory.
    3. Reinstall PD, this time selecting Outlook as your synch location.
    4. Hotsynch after changing conduits to handheld overwrites desktop.

You don't need to go to all that trouble.

    Do a hotsync to PD.

Insert the install disk. One of the listed options will be to change your hotsync conduits to Outlook. Select that option.

Hotsync again. All your PIM data will be copied from your Treo to Outlook. All the data stored in PD will remain, but it won't be updated in future hotsyncs (unless you switch back to PD for syncing).

I'm out of my mind. But feel free to leave a message.

I would actually suggest doing this backup even if you go with the other approach. PD and outlook work pretty differently and you may find you'll want to go back to the PD to see how some of your appointments, contacts etc were before you moved to Outlook.
