They apologized, in writing, but Young sued them anyway for causing her distress, demanding $3,000. When she won(!!) $900, she crowed about it in the newspaper and on national TV. Now, she's shocked (shocked!) that everyone in town hates her for her spite, and is afraid she may have to move. But hey: she won."
I doubt the truth of that suit. Any lawyer who would sue Palm for not having WIFI should be disbarred.

Well, I think the good part is that dimishing sales can speak louder than a lawsuit. As sales for Windows based PPCs and Smartphones rise, stock will go down unless an update to Palm comes out. I'm hopefull of a palm based Treo that has plenty of storage, supports WiFi, maximizes Bluetooth, and embraces multimedia. I know it's a lot to ask for, but I've no problem paying extra for that. Think about the expense of a phone, an iPod, a laptop, a PDA, and a gps device. While we're at it, let's put a higher resolution camera in. And last, but certainly not least, a decent frellin audio jack!!!

Maybe this guy is a lawyer. Because the only folks who would win in a lawsuit like that are the lawyers. No Treo users would get a dime, there would be no WiFi when all was said and done, but the lawyers would collect their fees, on both sides of the suit.

Perhaps we should don medieval robes, grab some pitchforks and torches, and descend on Palm headquarters. You know, the direct approach.

rambo, i've been up to denville before. Tell me, why do people depend on Route 46 so much when they can just take 80 all the way across northern NJ to practically any Route 46 destination? ;-) Some hot gals i know in that area from college in the Poconos. I lived in South Jersey all my life until a year ago. At any rate, I'm gonna sue Denville because I haven't been back there in a year or two. Sound good?

Well I would say that rude is winning out over useful except that in this case the rude posts are the most useful.

I find it a bit funny that people think that such a law suit couldn't be won. I'm no lawyer, and while I think there would be no benefit to such a suit, I could imagine situations where it's possible to win.

When people went after tobacco, many said that's silly. Once the warnings were posted, you had a choice. But many have won since then. What if it was discovered that Palm had a marketing scheme to make people believe that WiFi was coming, but never intended to deliver. In spite of statements that to the contrary. Instead, they negotiated deals with carriers to help them boost the sales of data plans? Rather outlandish? Granted! Possible? Yes! Probable? No!

    But for the non-believers.... http://www.stellaawards.com/

I looked at my 99 Escort Sedan before I bought it. I drove it. I rode in it while my wife drove it. I read about it.

But now I think it should have a automatic transmission, despite the fact that Ford made it clear to me that this car had an manual transmission when I bought it. I still hold them responsible for the fact that I bought a car sans a feature I now desire.

Clearly, this is their fault. I am going to sue.

Gotta love Ford!! I currently drive a 2000 Ford Escort ZX2 Coupe and the transmissions for that model regardless could be something consumers could sue about. Let's just say they make Aamco happy, driven hard or granny style. It just comes to show how companies care less about value and more about money.

...btw i know 4ster was joking
