Is there a reason why my treo resets after a hotsync? This is the only time it resets. Is there a way to disable this? Thanks!

Is it possible you have record or program causing a conflict? Your treo shouldn't reset every time.

I have found this happens due to a problem with the datebk database. You should get a copy of dbscan (I found the link for you: http://www.pimlicosoftware.com/dbscan.zip). Run it (when it opens, tap on "neither", then go to menu to "Remove all deleted records", then tap on "PalmOne", and tap on "ok" after removing each database).

I takes just a few seconds, but every time I have this problem, dbscan fixes it and I no longer get resets after HS.

If you're using Dataviz with DocsToGo (and you should to save space) try moving files to card again.

    1. Check the ERR code after one of these post-hotsync resets; that may tell you something.

    2. Check your Hotsync log: does it end with a series of files being restored instead of being backed-up? If so, then your Backup conduit is incorrectly set; right click the Hotsync Manager icon in your desktop program tray, choose Custom and change the default action of the Backup conduit to "Handheld overwrites desktop".

If you are using DocToGo, get DatavizTech and Delete temp files and databases.

Hotsync process uses differnt "conduits". These can be slectively disabled by right clicking the icon in the task bar of the PC, selecting Custom, then disabling the conduits.

Disable all of the conduits and Hotsync. If thet goes OK, then enable the conduits one by one and identify the one causing the reset.

    Post back with the results.

I just installed this and followed the directions and completed the task. It found 4 and I proceeded like you instructed. However, it still resets.

OK, I tried this as well. I went into Palm Desktop, then at the top selected Hotsync then custom. The list comes up and I made everything "Do Nothing" and selected set as default for the time being. Still no go. Hmmm.....

I have been having this problem for a while. When I dial ##377, I get this message: A reset was caused on 0/00/00 at 0:00 while running "WordToGo" : Fatal Exception. Not really sure what to do other than unistall Docs2Go but I use it a lot. Any ideas?...

What does your Hotsync log say under this condition (when all conduits are disabled)?

There is a log file on the PC. Does that have any entries?

It is in the following directory

    C:/Program Files/palmOne/<your hotsync id>/

I have tried everything. I even uninstalled the Docs to go and still no dice. I will just settle for it to reset each time. I don't find it a huge deal now. The phone has kept its settings like "button" assignments and what not. I guess it wouldn't hurt anyway to have a reset each day to clear it up. I only sync at night prior to bed, so I guess I will have to deal with this minor setback. Now to reinstall my docs to go. That's a must have for me!

    Hi

Had exactly the same problem - resets on hotsync. Did the #*377 thing on my phone (for some reason ##377 didn't work) and got a message that "word to go" had crashed my system. Deleted Documents to Go software and voila - reset-free hotsynchs !

    jafary,
You don't delete DocToGo. Just use DatavizTech and delete temp files.

Same Problem here, and same solution -- use the Dataviz tech tools and the problem is solved.
