I am currently testing various spell checkers on my Treo 650 to use in conjunction with chatteremail and noticed that Docs2Go 8 includes a spell checker plus native support for PDFs.

Is anyone here using Docs2Go 8 to read PDFs and the built in spell checker with Chatteremail? Is there an adavantage/disadvantage of this solution vs keeping Docs2Go 7 and to use the free Acrobat Reader and a $15 spell checker?

The Docs2Go upgrade would cost about $30 and I guess instead of maintaining three apps i would only maintain one.

There would be an advantage to use PalmPDF instead of Acrobat on Palm...

as far as the PDF side of things, i much prefer the PDF capabiliities of Docs, in particular the Word Wrap view option where you just scroll through the text, without having to magnify the actual page (which becomes a navigational nightmare). never been interested in a spellchecker.

Yeah, I've tried all three: Adobe Acrobat, PalmPDF and PDFtoGo.

Finally, after crashing my Treo several times with Acrobat and
PalmPDF, I settled on PDFtoGo... It's definitely better than the
other two in terms of both stability (never crashed) and ease of
    use (smoother to operate).

And if you want a spell checker to work with other apps, you are
out of luck with the DtoG version, though it works just fine.

PDFtoGo does not display data filled in PDF forms (like Income tax forms etc).

Thanks or the feedback. I rarely look at PDFs on the Treo, so the Docs2Go 8 PDF reader by itelf would probably not be a buying point for me. I might give PalmPDF a spin though.

Greenhex - are you saying that the spell checker works only within Docs2Go apps?

The Doc to go spell checker only works withing docs to go. But acording to a post in another thread, the dictionary that they're bundling with the upgrade does do spell check in other apps. I don't have, so I can't confirm.

I must have missed your question all along. But the answer is yes, the
spell checker works ONLY within DtoG, like santa mentioned.

The BDicty is a standalone dictionary that is bundled with DtoG upgrade
(probably because nobody was buying it...)
