Sorry for the delay. I don't seem to be having the problems that others have.

I've used mine daily for a week or so since I purchased it at CompUSA.

I have never had the latch open unless I made an effort to open it. Although it took me a while to get used to it, now I have the technique and it is fine. When the case opens the Treo still lies cradled in the open half of the case. It is easy to life out at that point.

The case is thinner than the original side leather case that was/is sold by Palm for the Treo. The neoprene lining covers sufficiently as the Treo is lifted out of the case and not slid out like the "traditional" metal hard cases. The hard plastic/rubber is very solid and I feel provides as much protection as the metal cases that I own for my Treo.

The belt latch works well on leather belts and it has not come off my belt, yet holds it close to the belt. As I have stated before, the black color and design look very business like and professional. The "Palm" logo is subtle and professional in appearance.

Since I use a Seidio car cradle, Enfora WiFi sled, Palm Treo cradle and other accessories that don't permit something to be attached to the Treo, this type of lift out case is perfect. I also prefer a horizontal case to a vertical case due to history of the vertical getting caught and popping off the latch. Also, the "spinning" type of latch have never been as secure for me as the direct belt clip.

Everybody has their own needs and desires. I have a number of different Treo cases and clips that now sit idle including a Seidio clip which I liked but never felt secure holding my Treo, a metal RhinoSkin, a Palm leather side case, a Verizon Wireless leather case and another one or two. I have not even looked at them since purchasing and beginning to use the new Palm Treo hard case.

It may work for you or it may not. Each to their own.

    Thanks for listening.

CompUSA has the hard case already? Great! Comp seems to have many Palm products in stock, so you don't have to order from Palm. Do they carry the cradle and battery too, anyone know?
HP has officially ruined it's own platform and kicked webOS loyalists and early TouchPad adopters to the curb. You think after you drop it like a hot potato and mention it made no money and is costing you money, anyone else wants it??? Way to go HP!!

And some people are fools to keep believing their hype. HP has shown they will throw webOS under the bus and people are still having faith in them??? News flash: if it's own company won't stand behind it, it's finished!

I also vote for more pictures. Especially of the inside and the belt clips.

Where have you seen it fo $30?

I was also wondering if I could fit a Treo650 which has a silicone skin on it into this case.

Got one yesterday at CompUSA. Definately not worth $40 but it's quite functional and very good looking. There are some points that I would worry cause abrasion to the case or scratches...One thing that irritates me is that the case doesn't open all the way (can't use it while in the case). IT's also a bit thicker than I would have liked. It also seems like the clip can get easily get bent out of shape but I'm not going to try and do it.

I just got mine today..., so I really havent had time to develop some strong opinions either way. My goal is to use my Treo "naked" and then store it safely when its not being used.

The Treo rests facing your body so that when you open the case the Treo's screen is viewable.

I know some of you didnt like the case, its too early for me to tell. I will give it a go and report back later.

Are there any problems with this case accidentally hitting keys while on a call with a BT headset? That's the only thing I hate about my Nutshell case. It drives me figgin'crazy.

I have only had the case for less than a whole day, but I would think that the case accidentally hitting any key would be highly unlikely. When its in the case it would take quite an impact to activate a key.... and if it did you would have other problems.

I read in the description that the belt clip can be removed. Can you tell me what specifically is removed or post a picture of it removed? Thanks!

    Here ya go..

Just underneath the bottom part of the belt clip you can see a gap.

Insert a coin into the gap and twist...

    The belt clip snaps off.
    http://static.flickr.com/55/132361156_79810752a2.jpg

As you can see the belt clip came off rather easily.

"How Easily" did the clip come off? Would it come off will a simple brush up against something, or would it require considerable force?
  20. #40
Good question... I think it came off pretty easy. Would it take considerable force to pop it off accidentally? I don't think so, but that remains to be seen. This is my 2nd day with the case.

Speaking of "case", I think that is a bit of a misnomer. It would call it more of a shell than a case. That's ok though... the case/shell is very light and snug to the treo, very low profile and no bulk at all compared to other offerings. I like that when I take the treo out to use it, it's just the treo and nothing else.
