1st post here - glad this forum is here !!

I have a Treo 650 and Verizon for provider. I have tried 2 of the Corsair 133x 2BG SD cards and I'm having no luck with either one of them. They both are doing the same things:

    1) Put card in - it is seen as a 1.8GB free of 1.8GB card - 3rd to bottom line says "unknown".
    2) Try to format card - Won't Format - I get a "format failed" message.
    3) Take card out and re-insert it and I get step #1 all over again.

I actually got it to work once - I copied over some MP3 files from my Mac G5 and it played one song. I turned it off and on and the card was unreadable.

On my Mac, it says it's a 2GB card when I put it in the card reader but if I launch Disk Utility (application) it calls it a 954.8 MB VIA-P VT6205-DevH Media.

Any suggestions ? The packaging says PC, Mac and Unix compatible but it's not working well for me. I use CF cards in my Canon 20D digital SLR all the time with no problems - but this has me unsure of what to try next.

    Thanks for any suggestions,
    John Lehmkuhl

In a Canon camera forum I visit on occassion, their have been MANY reports of that Corsair card having similar issues. Usually SD cameras are more tolerant of sub spec SD cards, which apparently the Corsair is. From what I remember, their are also numerous reports on Corsair's official support forums regarding problems. I highly recommend always checking the manufacturers support sites before posting here.

Your other option to try: buy a SD card reader that is very recent. I've seen - from experience - where newer chipsets in these card readers can revive a badly formatted SD card by a proper reformat before attempting to use it in your Treo again.

Also, just because Corsair makes other memory products that might work, does not mean it translate across their entire product lines.
