I have Treo 650 and I cannot type a message beyond 160 characters . It stops taking input and does not split into multiple messages which used to happen with my Treo 600. It is not a service problem because my other phones on same service split long messages. Please help anybody out there as this a nuisance. I have 1.20 ENA (is this the right software for Asian region also)

What helped for me (and many others) was just to insert a SIM card from another provider. After that I had messages splitting at 160 chars again.

I like to send multiple messages of 160 characters. I tried what aero310 proposes but it did not work for my unlocked Treo 650

Go to the Palm Website and download the update for the SMS application, and then the problem should be resolved.

    Just follow this link.

I have a Sprint Treo, will the above link still work? It reads for GSM only from the website, so will installing it regardless ruin anything?
