They sound like they are similar apps. Are they different?

Yes, they are different. FileZ is a file manager. It will let you delete anything you want to delete (that's not locked into memory, anyway), but it doesn't track what gets installed with each program and store that information, and then tell you what needs to be deleted when you want to delete an application. Uninstall manager has a lot of other features, like the ability to run new programs in a "sandbox" before actually installing them.

They're apples and oranges, really. Both fruit, but that's where the similarity stops.

Manual is very informative but here's the downside.

It only "does its thing" for programs installed AFTER you intsal it.

It's main claim to fame is that , once it is installed, it tracks all files installed:

    1. for the program
    2. with the program
    3. created by the program.

The regular Palm uninstaller will just remove item 1.

It's sister program in the neatfreakpak, CleanUp will search for 2 and 3 for apps alreday installed. Next time you do a ROM upgrade install UM 1st
