    I'm moving back from a Windows Mobile to the trusty Palm platform in the shape of a Treo 650 (it's great to be back!).

    Here's what I've done so far:
    1. Exported all my Outlook data to another PC
    2. Imported all the data into a freshly installed copy of Outlook 2003 - no problems
    3. Installed Palm software
    4. Run a hotsync - all the data transferred OK
    5. Opened installation CD and selected 'change sync method' to Palm Desktop (there is no option to reinstall from afresh as the screen now jumps straight past that bit)
    6. Run a hotsync again - all data transferred OK apart from the memos.
    7. Tried several times with no luck

    It's a brand new Treo, so the 'no memory' bit is a non starter (there's 18 meg free).

    I've also checked the conduit settings and they seem OK.
    Here's the error message ("test dfdfd" is a memo I created on the desktop as a test. Similarly a new test memo on the Treo failed to transfer).
    OK Quick Install
    OK VersaMail
    OK Media
    OK Calendar
    OK Contacts
    OK Tasks
    -- Memos
    - Could not copy the following record to the handheld:
    test dfdfd
    The memory in your handheld may be full. To check the available memory, select Menu/Info from the handheld's Application Launcher.
    - Some PC records were not copied to the handheld. Your handheld may be full. To correct this situation, delete some records and perform a HotSync operation again.
    Desktop = 114, Handheld = 113
    Memos synchronization failed

    -- Backing up psysLaunchDB to C:\Program Files\palmOne\mk\Backup\psysLaunchDB.PDB
    -- Backing up Saved Preferences to C:\Program Files\palmOne\mk\Backup\Saved_Preferences.PRC
    OK Backup
    Help appreciated!

    Here's what I've tried.

    I set the conduit so that the Memos on the desktop overrode the Treo - that successfully moved the Notes on to the handheld.

    But I still can't add or edit any notes.

    Here's the new error message:

    -- Memos
    - Some handheld records were not copied to your PC. Your computer may be full or you may have reached the maximum allowed records on the desktop. To correct this situation, delete some records and perform a HotSync operation again.
    Desktop = 115, Handheld = 113
    Desktop = 115, Handheld = 113
    Memos synchronization failed
    I'm using XP, btw, and connecting via USB.

    All conduits are ticked on the Palm sync interface too.

    1. Export the memos database from the Palm Desktop:
    ---to mpa file
    ---to csv file

    2. Delete memopad.dat from C:\ProgramFiles\Palm\[username]\memopad

    3. Delete memopad.db from Treo

    4. Hotsync

    5. Try importing mpa file back into Palm Desktop and Hotsync.

    6. If that don't work , delete stuff again and try csv file

    7. If taht don't work open csv in text editor and look for something weird.
